In Week 5, students at Westminster Education Support Centre proudly participated in our annual Cross Country Carnival. The event provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, and celebrate the importance of physical activity in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Throughout the carnival, students demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience and perseverance as they completed courses tailored to their individual abilities and needs. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, celebrating personal achievements, and showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.

A highlight of the event was seeing students challenge themselves to achieve their personal best, regardless of the distance completed. The smiles, sense of accomplishment and pride displayed by students reflected the positive and supportive culture we strive to foster at Westminster Education Support Centre.

Congratulations to all of our students for their incredible efforts. We are so proud of the determination, courage and enthusiasm they demonstrated throughout the event. πŸ’™πŸ’š Education WA

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ’› Walk Safely to School Day πŸ’›πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

What a fantastic morning celebrating Walk Safely to School Day at Westminster Education Support Centre! Thank you to all of our families and community members who joined us for our walk-to-school route, proudly supported by the City of Stirling.

Students and families met at a local park before walking together to school, building community connections and promoting the importance of active and safe travel. Along the way, students were excited to meet our school mascot, Wes, who helped make the morning extra special! 🦺✨

Once back at school, families enjoyed a community breakfast together and students participated in a range of engaging activities. One of the highlights was the smoothie bike, where students pedalled to blend their own delicious smoothies! πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ₯€

A huge thank you to Woolworths and Spud Shed at Stirling Central Shopping Centre for their generous donation of food and coffee supplies for our breakfast, and to North Metro Health for providing the popular Blend-a-Bike activity enjoyed by our students and families.

A massive thank you also goes to our wonderful community volunteers who generously give their time each day as our traffic wardens. Your ongoing commitment to keeping our students and families safe during drop-off and pick-up times is greatly appreciated by our entire school community. πŸšΈπŸ’›

It was wonderful to see so many families, staff and community members coming together to promote healthy lifestyles, road safety and community connection. πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

πŸŒΎπŸ‘ Landsdale Farm Excursion πŸ“πŸŒΏ

Our students enjoyed a wonderful visit to Landsdale Farm, where they explored, discovered and connected with the world around them through meaningful hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout the excursion, students developed important life skills including leisure and community access skills, communication skills, personal safety awareness, and social interaction skills within a real-world environment.

Students practised identifying familiar places and their purposes using photos, symbols, visuals and environmental cues to navigate different areas of the farm and participate in activities.

The visit also provided opportunities for students to explore living things and learn about different animals and their features through sensory and interactive experiences.

It was fantastic to see our student's building confidence, independence and engagement while enjoying such a rich and meaningful community learning experience! πŸŒΎπŸ‘πŸ“
