Calling all grandparents (or older adults) keen to find out what they actually need to know about AI without the jargon. 📣🎤🖥️📱🤔

Author Bethan Winn will do just that with her 'What You Actually Need to Know About AI' event at Cambridge Library on Saturday 7 November at 10.30am.

You can look forward to a warm and genuinely fun session, not a lecture, offering intergenerational conversations about technology and plenty of time for questions.

Bethan will demonstrate everyday AI tools, ways to spot AI scam calls as well as bust a few myths along the way.

A long time fixture on Cambridge Street, the story of the Wembley Hotel is this month's "Close Up on Cambridge".

Originally opened by Michael and Kathleen Cranley in October 1932, the venue soon proved popular with farming families from surrounding areas that would visit by horse-drawn wagons.

It was an absolute treat for Cambridge Library to host a school holiday workshop with renowned cartoonist Mark Guthrie. 😃🎉✏️✏️

During the 90-minute session, dozens of youngsters took part in fun activities to develop their drawing skills. Mark was wowed with the creativity of all the budding cartoonists who attended. 😮😁

"Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves" directed by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein

If you enjoy some escapism adventure, check out this hugely entertaining fantasy film about a motley bunch out to recover a lost relic.

Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez bring lots of swagger to their heroic roles, while Hugh Grant delivers the laughs as a con artist caught up in the quest. All up, its rollicking fun.

Wembley Ware has lots of fans, and we were thrilled that so many attended our recent presentation about the vintage ceramics. 🍽️ 🎤 😁

The History of Wembley Ware event featured History West volunteer Blume Gale (pictured with Cambridge Library staff) who delivered a fabulous insight into the much-loved collectables.

At the session, it was fascinating to discover that the former Wembley Ware factory in Subiaco managed the entire production process, starting with raw materials.

What's next for history related events at Cambridge Library? It's family history! 😍

Join Australian para-athletes Madison Heady and Rhiannon Clarke for a fun-filled Storytime at Cambridge Library on Thursday 12 November at 10.30am. 🏃‍♀️🥇🏆

Celebrating 2026 International Day of People with Disability, the session will provide a mix of entertaining stories and crafts.

For several years, Madison has competed in WA state athletic competitions and collected a silver medal for the 1500m T36/Para at the 2020/2021 National Athletics Championships.

Rhiannon became a Commonwealth Games silver medallist at just 15-years-of-age and has gone on to compete in multiple Paralympic contests. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she claimed a bronze medal in the Women's 100m T38.

No need to book for this upcoming Storytime session, just come along!
