While electrofishing in urban lakes we have encountered an adult jaguar cichlid! Not sure why people release these guys ...

While electrofishing in urban lakes we have encountered an adult jaguar cichlid! Not sure why people release these guys into our waterways they could make an environmental disaster in Perth! They get up to 60cms, have teeth and probably the most aggressive cichlid in the world! I’ve seen them smash glass in fish tanks and break it! So imagine what they can do to native fish, ducklings and baby turtles!

Please do not release these guys into lakes! This can also destroy the hobby of ornamental fishkeeping. Keep them in your tanks, not local waterbodies!

PASES Aquatic is a diverse business specialising in a wide range of aquatic and ecological services in natural and artificial ecosystems, including wetlands, natural bushlands, lakes, natural pools, ponds, aquariums, aquaculture & aquaponics systems.

Dr. Dulana Herath, a passionate biologist with diverse ecological knowledge and a lifelong interest in water, ornamental/ native fish, and terrestrial ecosystems, founded the company in 2013. The company was initially named Perth Aquatic, Seed and Ecological Services Pty Ltd, and in 2017 split into two sister businesses PASES Aquatic and PASES Eco.

Our goal is to be the company that best understands and improves the quality of :

Aquatic systems - Wetland & Lake management, Natural Pool design & build, Pond Services, Aquarium Services.
