As part of the Cook Labor Government's commitment to building safe and inclusive communities, we’ve just launched Western Australia’s first LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan.
The ten-year strategy and five-year action plan outline the key priority areas for building a safer, more inclusive WA for LGBTIQA+ communities, focusing on four priority areas:
🏳️🌈 Belonging, connection and visibility
🏳️🌈 Safety, equity and wellbeing
🏳️🌈 Systems, services and data
🏳️🌈 Leadership, education and awareness
As part of the Action Plan, we’ve also announced the opening of a new grants program totalling $252,000 to support pilots, projects and initiatives that align with the priorities of the strategy.
The LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Grants Program offers two grant application streams, with grants of up to $10,000 for eligible organisations and local governments and up to $25,000 available for collaborative projects.
