๐Ÿ“ฃCall for presenters | 2027 State Heritage Conference

We're looking for presenters for the 2027 State Heritage Conference and want to hear from heritage professionals, researchers, community leaders, students and young professionals who are passionate heritage advocates from across the state.

Our conference theme this year โ€“ Heritage Horizons: Exploring heritage above, below and beyond, encourages us to look beyond traditional understandings of heritage and explore the many layers that shape our places, landscapes and communities.

๐Ÿ”Ž HERITAGE HIGHLIGHT ๐Ÿ”Ž

Step back in time at Cuddy Cuddy Changing Station! ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

Did you know this historic site once played a vital role in Western Australiaโ€™s early mining boom? Built in the 1850sโ€“60s, Cuddy Cuddy was a key stop where horse teams were changed along the busy route between the Northampton mines and the port at Champion Bay. Before railways took over, this station kept goods moving and industry growing across the region. โ›๏ธ

Today, its weathered granite buildings and rural landscape continue to tell the story of life on the road in the nineteenth century. From stables to sheds, the site offers a rare glimpse into early transport and settlement, reminding us how people lived, worked and connected long before modern infrastructure. โœจ
