Girls Hockey
Congratulations to our girls hockey team for their outstanding effort in a challenging match against a very experienced Oberon PS. Although the final score was 2-1 in favour of Oberon, our girls demonstrated remarkable perseverance and tried their little hearts out until the end! For many of our players, it was their first time playing hockey, and they improved every minute, learning positions and rules as they went. Shoutout to Claire who volunteered to be goalie and made some amazing saves! I am extremely proud of everyone! Well done, girls!

Promoting Active Lifestyles at PPS!

At PPS, we believe that active children are happy, healthy children. Regular physical activity helps students build confidence, resilience, teamwork skills and positive wellbeing, while creating lifelong healthy habits.

This term, our school is participating in the Premier's Sporting Challenge (PSC), a fantastic initiative that encourages students to be active every day. Our involvement also helps the school access grant funding to purchase additional sporting equipment, providing even more opportunities for students to move, play and thrive.

To help lead the way, we are proud to have 8 Premier's Sporting Challenge Ambassadors, with 2 students representing each primary year group. These students were elected by their peers for consistently demonstrating encouragement, inclusiveness and support towards others during sport, fitness and playground activities. (Nadia absent from photo).

Our ambassadors are wonderful role models within our school community. They assist teachers during fitness and sporting sessions, help organise and distribute equipment, and encourage fellow students to stay active and engaged during break times. They also enter data on how many hours we're active for!

As we continue our athletics season and Premier's Sporting Challenge journey, we thank our ambassadors for their leadership and enthusiasm in helping make physical activity a fun, positive and inclusive experience for all students.

PSSA Soccer

On Thursday 28th May our boys and girls soccer teams both played in the PSSA gala day. Both teams played extremely well. The boys were defeated in a very skilful close contest against West Bathurst, which went into overtime. Our girls defeated West Bathurst and Eglinton to progress to a 3rd round match against Kelso Public in the coming weeks.

Premier’s Spelling Bee

Well done to all the students in Years 3-6 who had a go at spelling during our spelling bee. It is not easy to spell words verbally without writing it down!

Congratulations to Nadia (Junior division) and Tipene (Senior division), who were the best spellers at our Spelling Bee.
They will participate in the regional final next term.
