Due to increasing temperatures and windy conditions forecast for tomorrow, the Fire Danger Rating has been raised to Extreme. As a result, a Total Fire Ban has also been declared from midnight tonight for 24 hours.

During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

Know what you will do if threatened by fire, review your Bush Fire Survival Plan and be ready to take immediate action. Report all fires without a fire truck in attendance to Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Planning on burning this Easter Long Weekend?

Here are a few tips and reminders for any residents that are planning a pile burn:
✅ Notify the RFS at least 24 hours prior to any burning via www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify
✅ Notify all adjoining neighbours at least 24 hours prior to any burning activity
✅ Do you have approval from the local Council to undertake burning activities - contact your Council for more info
✅ Check weather conditions, like the forecast wind and temperature to ensure the fire will be able to remain under control. Don't light up unless it's safe to do so.
✅ Ensure you have a cleared area around any burn location and monitor it closely
✅ Once complete, extinguish the fire thoroughly and regularly monitor it

Whilst you're enjoying a relaxing Easter Long Weekend, we also want our Firefighters to enjoy a relaxing time as well and not need to attend careless or wreckless fires.

You may have been using fire on your property for years, but it's your responsibility to make sure you're using it safely. Heavy fines apply for the unsafe use of fire or if your fire escapes.

If the fire gets out of control for any reason, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
