Today, representatives from the Pingelly Community Resource Centre attended the Senate Community Affairs References Committee’s public hearing in Perth regarding the inquiry into the Support at Home Program.

We were honoured that our very own Helen was invited to speak and participate in the proceedings, sharing crucial insights on behalf of regional communities and the Staying In Place program.

Advocating for accessible, high-quality care and support for older Australians living in regional communities remains at the heart of what we do. Thank you to the Committee for the opportunity to contribute to this important national conversation!

Pingelly Museum & Historical Group are digging deep into the archives and bringing out unusual historical items form Pingelly's early days to test your local knowledge. Check out the 9 mystery items on display in the Pingelly CRC front window, and write down your guesses on an entry form available in the CRC, then pop in the box provided for a chance to win a Pingle Cafe voucher!

✨ Celebrating connection, belonging and positive ageing in Pingelly ✨
Over June-July, Pingelly CRC has been fortunate to host Catherine “Cat” Kershaw, a UWA McCusker Centre for Citizenship intern studying Human Geography with a minor in Global Health.
Cat has contributed valuable evaluation and insights into The Village project, highlighting the important role it has played in strengthening community connection, informal support, belonging and positive ageing for its 211 members.
Her reflections also reminded us how powerful small acts of inclusion, conversation and community spirit can be in reducing loneliness and helping people feel connected.
Thank you to Cat for her outstanding work. We wish her every success for the future. 💛
In the 2026 winter internship, the McCusker Centre placed 311 students with host agencies. Since commencing in 2016, more than 6,100 students have taken up the internships providing more than 614,000 voluntary hours to 650 partners such as the Pingelly CRC. Pingelly CRC has hosted 7 interns to work with us over the last 4 years.

Pop in to the Pingelly CRC, Pingelly or Brookton Bendigo Bank Branches or the Brookton CRC, pick up a voting form, choose your favourite 12 images from the competition display and jot down the image numbers on your voting slip.
