The Shire of Murray is one of the fastest growing districts in Australia, boasting enviable natural assets and delivering a unique lifestyle for its community. There is much that unites us in this wonderful part of the world and we believe great things can happen in the Shire when we work together. We have more things in common than not, and by putting energy into building things together, constru
cting things together, improving things together, we believe the Shire will continue to move in a positive direction for all the people who live and work here. For that reason, itβs important we have a common understanding of what is reasonable and appropriate when it comes to taking part in the discussions on this page. We wish this wasnβt necessary, but occasionally it is helpful to remind our community that this is a place for all people to learn about, comment on, share and engage with the work that is being done by the Shire of Murray in support of our community-led strategic plan. And everyone in our community should have the right to do that without being exposed to hurtful, offensive or unkind commentary. So although we encourage you to join the conversation as your comments and sharing of our posts help others to discover the page, and help spread the word, we do have some expectations with regards to how that happens:
Just as in the real world, we expect the same respectful behaviours and interactions on here that most of us show in real life. This includes recognising that our comments and messages on Facebook play a part in public discussions, and that they may be seen and read by a wide range of people. Consequently, we expect, as all reasonable members of our community would, that discussion and comment will be respectful and legal. This is a community. We are all working to make things better, and division or disrespect undermines that effort. And so comments that are likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others will be removed. Posts including swearing will be removed. Posts that are rude, unkind or aggressive will be removed. Bullying and/or harassment and/or victimisation will also not be tolerated. We may choose to block repeat offenders. We operate this page during office hours Monday to Friday and will on occasion post messages outside of office hours. We will moderate comments in a reasonable timeframe, but users should also be aware that they have some responsibility for the content and legality of their posts when published.
