We are proud to congratulate our Deputy Controller, Max Kelly, on receiving the NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation

This award recognises Max’s contribution during the devastating Northern Rivers floods in 2022, where she was deployed as part of a VICSES taskforce supporting flood-affected communities.

A well-deserved recognition of her dedication, commitment and service to others. Congratulations, Max, on this outstanding achievement. 👏 🧡

Last night, our volunteers responded to a two-car collision alongside Police, Ambulance and CFA. Crews assisted at the scene to help support emergency operations and ensure the area was kept safe for all involved.

Please remember to stay safe on the roads. Slow down, avoid distractions, and drive to the conditions, especially at night.

Thanks to all responding agencies for working together throughout the incident, and to our members for once again answering the call to help our community 🧡

It was lovely to call in to SES Port Fairy Unit and say thank you in person to Max and Ray for all of the hardwork the SES volunteers do to keep us safe.

🧡 WOW Day – Wear Orange Wednesday 🧡

Today the members of VICSES Port Fairy proudly wear orange to recognise and celebrate the amazing volunteers who dedicate their time to helping our community.

Whether it’s responding to storms, assisting at road crash rescues, supporting community events, training together or fundraising throughout the year, our volunteers are always ready to lend a hand when needed.

WOW Day is also about celebrating the friendships, teamwork and lifelong connections that come from being part of the SES family. From our newest recruits to our long-time members, every single volunteer plays an important role in keeping our community safe.

To all SES volunteers, thank you for everything you do, often behind the scenes and in all kinds of weather. 🧡

And to our Port Fairy community, thank you for your ongoing support of our local unit. It truly means the world to our members.

One of our youngest members headed off to the Grampians over the weekend to complete her 4WD course 👏

It’s fantastic to see our members getting involved in training opportunities like this. Not only building valuable skills that help us support our community, but also making life-long connections, meeting new people, and having a bit of fun along the way.

From learning new techniques to gaining confidence behind the wheel, courses like these are a great reminder of the opportunities SES provides both on and off the job.

Well done Ally! We’re proud to have you in our team! 🧡

Today, we pause to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country.

On ANZAC Day, we reflect on the courage, mateship, and resilience that define the ANZAC spirit, values that continue to inspire us in our work and our community.

We are grateful for those who came before us and those who continue to serve.

Lest we forget.

Today is our favourite day of the year 🧡

Our Port Fairy SES volunteers were out and about fundraising as part of our annual tradition, raising much-needed funds for sick children and their families. This year, we’re proud to share that we raised an incredible $2,645.70, an amazing effort by our team and community.

It’s a day that means so much to our unit giving back to a cause that supports kids when they need it most.

A huge thank you to our amazing community for your generosity and support. Every donation, big or small, helps make a real difference.

We’re proud to be part of something so special each year 🧡

A big congratulations to our newly appointed Unit Management team 🧡 👏

Colin on becoming Section Leader – Training, Dave as Deputy Controller – Facilities, and Bree as Deputy Controller – Community Engagement.

Together with Max, Deputy Controller – Operations, and Hannah as the unit Controller, this group forms a well-rounded team that supports every part of what we do.

While much of what they do isn’t always seen, there are countless hours spent behind the scenes planning training, maintaining equipment and facilities, coordinating operations, engaging with the community, and ensuring our members are supported and that our community is safe.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Sean, who recently served as Deputy Controller – Assets, for his dedication and hard work. His commitment behind the scenes has made a lasting difference to the unit.

It’s this teamwork, dedication, and passion that keeps our unit organised, capable, and ready to respond when our community needs us most.

Good Friday is just around the corner, and it’s our favourite day of the year 💛

Our Port Fairy SES volunteers will be out and about this Friday collecting for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, a cause that means so much to all of us.

If you see us out, please give if you can. Every dollar makes a real difference to kids and their families.

Thank you for your support, Port Fairy 🙌

Rooftop training tonight, with our members focusing on safe access and working confidently with qualified rooftop operators.

These skills are critical when responding to storm damage and helping protect our community, and it’s great to see everyone continuing to build their capability in a safe, controlled environment.

Another strong night of training and teamwork.
