WELL DESERVED RECOGNITION FOR KEN LITTLE. A SUPPORTER OF THE MID NORTH COAST, AND A SUPPORTER OF BILLABONG ZOO.

We are ecstatic to see Ken Little receive the Order of Australia Medal. As Ken has been quoted saying here, he’s a proud supporter of the locals and the reciprocal relationship he and his family has maintained with the mid north coast and his business Ken Littles Fruit and Veg.

What many might not know is Ken Little and his family have through his business been supporting Billabong Zoo with top quality fruit and vegetable seconds for over 20 years. Supporting local business, local tourism, and supporting the conservation works with threatened and critically endangered species here at the zoo.

Thank you for your support of our business and the work we do over more than two decades Ken Little, and congratulations on this well deserved achievement!

While this might look like a serious disagreement, it's actually pretty normal behaviour for young male koalas. 🐨

As adults, male koalas can be quite territorial and will compete for space and breeding opportunities. These two aren't quite at that stage yet, so for now it's more of a slow-motion wrestling match than a genuine fight.

It's all part of growing up, and it's certainly entertaining to watch when you're lucky enough to catch it in action!

Bingo and Vegemite enjoying a little afternoon snack of scribbly gum. 🌿🐨

Koalas can be surprisingly fussy eaters, with different trees, and even different leaves from the same tree, often preferred over others.

Judging by the enthusiasm shown here, scribbly gum is definitely on the approved list.

πŸ¦” Bred right here at Billabong Zoo last year, this young echidna was busy exploring his habitat at midday yesterday!

With the long weekend ahead, it's just one of the many animals you might spot active and on the move. Keep an eye out for his blue quills, that's how our team identifies this little creature as it grows.

Did you know an echidna's sticky tongue can reach up to 15cm long?
