Cape Nelson Lighthouse Cape Nelson Lighthouse is located on the spectacularly rugged cliffs of the Discovery coast, 5 hours drive from Melbourne and 10 minutes from Portland.

The lighthouse precinct is home to Isabella's Cafe, which serves tea, coffee, cakes and gourmet lunches daily, as well as the assistant lighthouse keeper's cottages, which have been elegantly restored to offer boutique luxury accommodation. Tours of the lighthouse run daily at 11am and 2pm.

The Cape Nelson Lighthouse is one of the many lighthouses across the country that are being restored.

This process began in October and is due to be completed in June.

Here you see the scaffolding going up. A scaffolding is then built and protective layer is attached wrapping the lighthouse while its paint is stripped. The lighthouse is repainted and as you can see, the plastic is now coming down!

The interior of the lighthouse has also been completely restored.

It is a huge project. Our lighthouse will be even more amazing once it is completed!

We now have permission to allow visitors back on site. That is such a great feeling!
Be safe and enjoy the " remote and blowy" spectacle we have to offer as we transition into winter.

Whales 🐋🐋🐋were spotted late yesterday evening out at our Cape! Breaching and blowing off shore. We could see at least three of them a fair way out to sea. The top of the lighthouse is a terrific vantage point 😉. Call Gordon if you would like to tour the lighthouse 0438012352.
