linda was a 13-year-old streetkid in late seventies kings cross, sleeping in parks and pinball parlours, dodging the juvie squad, escaping back to the X when caught and incarcerated in the notorious minda girls home. ultimately becoming a kx insider, she worked all the strip-clubs and peep-shows of the X, her early stage name 'foxy lady' later changed to 'diamond'. she was also the boss of the legendary pink panther strip club in its final year in the mid 1990s. linda was also a prolific photographer with an "access-all-areas" pass thru the X's wildest period - late 1970s to early 2000s - spending lots of her hard-earned on film and processing at blinky's one hour photo on darlinghurst road. her incredible snaps are a collection as important as anything shot in this country last century.

burt deverich's 'sebel smokes & souvenirs' was his shop in the legendary 'celebrity' hotel on elizabeth bay road - the sebel town house - from the mid 1970s thru mid 1990s, where you could buy anything from a souvenir postcard or kangaroo paw back scratcher to an akubra hat or a box of fine cuban ci**rs. getting your photo snapped with burt in his shop was a visiting celebrity rite-of-passage.
