An alleged driver has been arrested after a stolen vehicle reached alleged speeds of 120km/h in a 60 zone in Melbourne’s north early hours this morning.

Officers on patrol caught site of an allegedly stolen silver Subaru Liberty on Barry Road in Campbellfield about 1am.

Police kept eyes on the vehicle as travelled along Mahoney’s Road.

Officers attempted to intercept the Subaru before it allegedly took off at speed, reaching 120km/h in a 60 zone.

The Subaru was allegedly dumped on High Street before the driver took off on foot along the Broadway.

With the assistance of the dog squad, the alleged driver was arrested sitting at a bus stop in the vicinity.

A 31-year-old Donnybrook man will be interviewed by investigators.

When the Lamborghini hire company and are both watching your speed . . .

🚓 This Lamborghini was detected in the early hours of Sunday morning driving at 129 km/hr on Cooper Street, Epping with the driver returning an alleged breath test reading of 0.091.

👀 It seems the hire company were also receiving tracking notifications of his alleged speed, suddenly noticing the “bull” had come to a complete stop.

❌ The rental agreement officially expired when the director of the hire company arrived soon after to collect his vehicle, turns out the rental agreement didn’t include drink driving and triple digit speeds.

Operation ESPADA (named after our DFO's love of Lamborghinis) identifies fi****ms owners over 75 years of age, with the goal of ensuring storage compliance and support planned disposal of fi****ms.
On Friday the 22nd of May 2026, supported by some extra bodies from PORT, police conducted 24 storage inspections in the Whittlesea, Darebin and Nillumbik areas.
As a result -
* Over 40% of the inspections identified non-compliant storage.
* Several fi****ms were surrendered pending upgrade to storage requirements.
* 1 firearm was surrendered as the owner no longer wanted it.
* 1 investigation initiated for fi****ms offences.
Through this operation we are able to provide support in target hardening and reduce the potential for fi****ms to end up in the wrong hands.

Friday Fail.
When your Ford has front end problems.

🚓 would like to remind drivers that roadworthy standards exist to protect all road users, when we came across this one in Epping recently it left us just shaking our heads.

❌ If your vehicle isn’t safe, it shouldn’t be on the road - this one was defected and immediately grounded on the spot.

Safe to say the old Ford acronym was very much alive and well . . .
