It was great to have the Federal Member for Flynn, Colin Boyce, visit our Council yesterday. Colin was able to give us an update on Federal matters concerning the areas he covers in the South Burnett, Boondooma, Proston, Hiveville and Wondai. He also gave us an overview of Federal matters generally.

Thank you to Donna Brown from Council for organising the volunteers forum with Volunteer Qld and our emergency services to include our community volunteers as part of our disaster team. We are signing up any volunteers who want to put their hand up to help during times of disaster so we have a register ready as part of our disaster planning.

A barbecue lunch and catch up with the infrastructure staff to say thank you to them for the work they do on the ground and to present our 10 year service awards👏👏 We also talked about the changes to staff structure, upgrades to the depots and the plan to have more people working locally.

Mostly Murgon today with Cr Heath Sander & Cr Ros Heit Division 6 South Burnett Regional Council at a final catch up for the QRA funded Burnett Flood Study. It is interesting to see the maps and understand how many times our community has been impacted by Disaster. A BIEDO meeting this morning and a quick trip to GH Clothing & Co.

In Murgon for our Council workshop today with Cr Heath Sander showing us some of the planned works including a Works for Qld project for a new cabin in a beautiful spot at BP Dam.
