Forces Command - Australian Army Here we share the daily activities and achievements of our soldiers.

Welcome to Forces Command, the Australian Army's G7, responsible for individual and collective training across the conventional Army, from recruit training to preparation for operations. Headquarters Forces Command manages approximately 85% of the Army’s personnel including the 1st Brigade in Darwin, 3rd Brigade in Townsville, 7th Brigade in Brisbane, 6th Brigade in Sydney, 16th Aviation Brigade

in Brisbane and 17th Combat Service Support Brigade in Sydney along with Army’s training establishments including Army Recruit Training Centre at Kapooka, Royal Military College at Duntroon, Combined Arms Training Centre in Puckapunyal, Army Logistics Training Centre at Bandiana and Army Aviation Training Centre in Oakey. Headquarters Forces Command has responsibility for the development, training and sustainment of the Army’s Reserve capability. This is vested with Headquarters 2nd Division which commands the Army’s six Reserve Brigades. The structure of Forces Command enables the Army to more effectively and efficiently conduct force generation and force preparation for current and future operations, and enhancing the Army’s foundation warfighting skills is the essence of this command. Established on 1 July 2009, Forces Command became the Army’s largest functional command with the amalgamation of Land and Training Commands and the transfer of the 1st, 3rd and 7th Brigades into its structure. With its origins in the amalgamation of Land Command and Training Command, Forces Command has inherited a proud history which continues with its location in the convict built sandstone buildings of Victoria Barracks Sydney, in Paddington. The motto of Forces Command is 'Observe-Learn-Adapt-Win', which summarises the foundation for operational success.

Rise to the challenge.
For six days, at 6am from June 1-6, get up, get connected and get active to recognise the six veterans who die by su***de every month in Australia.
Deputy Commander Forces Command Brigadier Mick Scott and Victoria Barracks personnel yesterday started the day with PT joined by Invictus Australia and members of the Sydney Roosters in a dry run for next month’s ZERO600 challenge.
The ZERO600 initiative open to all the community is designed to raise funds for Australian veterans and their families by supporting the work of Invictus Australia.
Director of Army Sport Colonel Warwick Young said ZERO600 was an incredibly important initiative. “It puts in the forefront of our mind there can be a cost to service and we need to do everything we can to prevent the loss of life through su***de,” he said.
Invictus Australia Director Strategic Partnerships and Board Vanessa Bernardo added: “The power of sport can build connection, reduce isolation, build comradery and strengthen the parts of life that build mental health fitness as well as support rehabilitation recovery and help ongoing wellbeing.”
Any team, club, workforce or community member can find out more and register for the initiative here: ZERO600.com.au
