Today, we honour those who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting their country during times of war and conflict.
FRNSW firefighters have a long and proud history working within, and alongside, the Australian Defence Force through conflict and peacekeeping operations.
Many made the ultimate sacrifice; their courage and commitment will never be forgotten.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

This Grass Fire that we just extinguished on Gordon st Schofields was started by a single discarded cigarette. It grew Into this very quickly and It got extremely close to nearby homes. Please if you have to smoke don't throw your cigarette butts out the window. The grass is very dry and along with the strong winds, it could be much worse next time.

In the past the elderly residents of Quakers Hillside Care Nursing Home have made what we call trauma teddies for Fire and Rescue NSW Station 096 Schofields . We give these to little kids that have been victims of house fires, car accidents or other traumatic events. When the child is going through such a terrible event they help to calm them and take their mind off what has just happened.
Quakers Hillside Care has donated bags of these teddies over the years some of which we passed onto Fire and Rescue NSW Station 063 Blacktown as they are the primary rescue station in the Blacktown area.
We would like to thank the residents of Quakers Hillside Care for their assistance in supporting us.
