R304 located the vessel and took them under tow back to Clifton Springs boat ramp the Distressed Vessel was delivered safely no damage nor injuries.

Water Police tasked R304 to assist a jet ski with 2 POB’s broken down off Sorrento.

R304 attendee and attempted to jump start due to possible battery fail.

Unable to jump so jet ski was taken under tow back to Queenscliff boat ramp.

Jet ski delivered safely no damage nor injuries.

Clifton Springs Golf Club partners with Coast Guard Queenscliff to strengthen local community support



Clifton Springs Golf Club has announced a new three-year community partnership with Coast Guard Queenscliff, reinforcing the two organisations shared commitment to the Bellarine community.



Under the partnership, Clifton Springs Golf Club will provide annual cash sponsorship to Queenscliff Coast Guard, together with in-kind support for an agreed annual fundraising golf day or similar community event. The partnership will help build awareness of Coast Guard Queenscliff’s vital work while creating opportunities for the community to support its volunteers.



Clifton Springs Golf Club has been part of the local landscape for more than a century, with its first recorded official competition held on 20 November 1909 on a nine-hole links course. Today, the Club operates and maintains its 18-hole course and continues its longstanding role as a social, sporting and community hub for the Bellarine.



Coast Guard Queenscliff- officially Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association VF9 -has served the region for 50 years. Its volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, undertaking marine search-and-rescue operations across Port Phillip and through The Rip, while also supporting boating safety and community education.



“Clifton Springs Golf Club is proud to support Coast Guard Queenscliff and the extraordinary volunteer service its members provide across our region,” said Sophie Williams, Chief Executive Officer, Clifton Springs Golf Club.

“This partnership is about backing an organisation whose people make a genuine difference when it matters most. We look forward to working together to strengthen community connections, recognise the contribution of Coast Guard volunteers and help support the vital services they deliver.”



Chris Smith, Commander, Coast Guard Queenscliff, welcomed the partnership.



“We are incredibly proud to partner with Clifton Springs Golf Club,” Mr Smith said. “As a volunteer marine-rescue organisation, community partnerships are essential to maintaining our operational capability, training our volunteers and ensuring we are ready to respond when people need us most.



“The Club’s support will help us continue delivering this important service, while building greater awareness of the role our volunteers play in keeping Port Phillip and the Bellarine’s waterways safe.”

The partnership reflects a shared belief in the value of strong local organisations working together to support the people, places and volunteers that make the Bellarine Peninsula a connected and resilient community.

Water Police requested R304 assist in the search for an overdue kayaker heading from Rosebud to Sorrento. R304 commenced a search from Portsea in a South-easterly direction. Southern Peninsula Rescue were tasked with a different search area. The kayak and operator were sighted by R304 near the entrance to the Sorrento Channel, both were taken onboard R304 and transported to Sorrento boat ramp to rendezvous with Ambulance Victoria for assessment. The patient was subsequently transported to Frankston Hospital by road for further treatment. R304 returned to Queenscliff.

🚨 VESSEL ASSIST – ST LEONARDS

Coast Guard Queenscliff R-304 was tasked by Water Police to assist a vessel in distress off St Leonards.

Our crew located the vessel at the provided position and safely towed it back to St Leonards Public Boat Ramp. The vessel was then rafted alongside and brought safely to the ramp.

Thankfully, there were no injuries and no damage.

Another successful assist and a safe outcome for everyone involved.

$200,000 towards new Coast Guard Queenscliff vessel

Coast Guard Queenscliff acknowledges today’s announcement of a $200,000 election commitment by the Victorian Liberals and Nationals towards a new rescue vessel for our flotilla.

The commitment was announced during a visit to Coast Guard Queenscliff by Liberal candidate for Bellarine Callum Whitehead, together with Danny O’Brien MP and Bev McArthur MP.

A new vessel would strengthen our marine search and rescue capability and support our volunteers to continue responding safely and effectively across the waters around Queenscliff and the southern end of Port Phillip.

Coast Guard Queenscliff welcomes commitments that support marine safety and the capability of our volunteer emergency services.
