What a fantastic way to unwind and relax after a busy fire season!!
Lunch and Barefoot Bowls for Rainbow Flat members, family, friends and a few Diamond Beach members.
Obviously bowling fire hoses and bowling bowls is very different but heaps of fun.
Lots of laughs and some great stories.
Thanks to Mark and Lisa for organising our social events. 🌈

Last night our Brigade had its AGM.
All positions were filled by our amazing members sharing the workload across the Brigade and supporting our community.
It was rewarding to see so many attend the AGM and keen to give of their time.
Group Captain Silas Sutherland presented three of our members with the NSW Premier's Emergency Flood Citation for their work on the Lismore Flood Response 2022-2023.
Congratulations everyone, looking forward to a positive year working together.

On Monday night Diamond Beach Brigade invited our members to attend an information session on HAZMAT response work hosted by 453 Station Taree Fire and Rescue NSW.
We were able to take a close look at specialty equipment and how a HAZMAT incident is managed before enjoying a BBQ dinner with Fire and Rescue crew.
It was a great learning experience and we thank 453 Station Taree for hosting the information evening. 🌈

Yesterday Rainbow Flat crew spent a long day at the Burdekins fire at Bulahdelah, along with a number of district brigades mainly putting in place strategic burns to contain the fire.
It has been a relentless bush fire season for Bulahdelah brigade, great job today hope you get a break soon.
While we worked on the fire, a crew of 3 Rainbow Flat members responded to an MVA on the Lakes Way at Rainbow Flat
Thank you to all our volunteers. 🌈

After a very busy fire season we had a great turnout for Maintenance last night. 11 pairs of hands made the job so much easier and a few laughs made it enjoyable.
Awesome team at Rainbow Flat, however we're always looking for new members to be part of our diverse team of women and men. 🌈

Please delay your planned burns.
Brigades are responding to fires at Nabiac, Markwell, Bunyah, Bulga Road and Bungwahl. Some are contained but your crews have been out constantly for days.
Do you really need to do that burn?
If so you must have notified RFS on line, notified your neighbours, have water, equipment, watch the winds, stay with the burn at all times, and call 000 immediately if it gets out of control. Your burn is your responsibility!!

Crews have been out on multiple fire callouts over the last few days.
Yesterday's crew didn't get back till midnight.
Please be cautious with your burns.🌈

As at 1:45pm, there are 42 bush and grass fires across NSW, with 14 not yet contained.

Fires in the Mid Coast and Tenterfield LGAs are producing smoke visible across surrounding communities. Smoke may settle in low-lying areas overnight and into the morning, before clearing as temperatures rise during the day.

While most of NSW is outside the Bush Fire Danger Period, recent warm, dry weather has led to a number of escaped pile burns. Land managers are urged to exercise caution, monitor local weather conditions, and remain with burns until they are fully extinguished.

Safe burning is your responsibility. For more information, visit the RFS website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au
