⚔CLOSE COMBAT⚔

Last weekend, soldiers from 5th/6th Battalion, Royal Victoria Regiment - Australian Army, 4th Brigade - Australian Army, conducted live-fire 💥 and bayonet ⚔ training during Exercise Bardia.

This activity strengthened combat skills, aggression in close combat, weapons proficiency and teamwork 🤝 in a field training environment.

The 2nd (Australian) Division is extremely proud of the history and connection 1st/15th Royal New South Wales Lancers - Australian Army has with its local community, dating all the way back to 1885, when Lancer Barracks in Parramatta was opened.

The Parramatta Eels will honour this legacy today during their ANZAC Round clash with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

At the recent Australian of the Year Awards, North West Mobile Force - NORFORCE soldier Sergeant Ron Green BM ESM was named the 2026 Northern Territory Local Hero 🎉

In addition to his outstanding service protecting his community and country with NORFORCE, SGT Green was recognised for his extensive volunteer work with NT Emergency and Rescue Services, as well as his exceptional leadership within the Katherine Youth Division of St John Ambulance.

This recognition once again highlights the exceptional people serving within the 2nd (Australian) Division and their unwavering dedication to both country and community 💪🇦🇺

12th/16th Hunter River Lancers are the proud recipients of the last Protected Mobility Vehicle - Light, better known as the Hawkei, to be delivered for use in the 2nd (Australian) Division.

Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Craig Campbell recently collected the keys from the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group Land 121 Phase 4 project director Mr Nick Clarke in Brisbane.

The Hawkei will provide the unit and 11th Brigade - Australian Army with a highly mobile, protected, digitally‑enabled vehicle for modern operations.
