Are You OK Today? is a heartfelt NEW children’s story that encourages kindness, connection and open conversations about feelings.
Follow Wangadi, a caring crow who travels through Djukun Country, checking in on friends and asking a simple but powerful question: “Are you OK today?” Along the way, children discover how to recognise emotions, listen to others, support their friends and know when to ask for help.
Written by Jaala Ozies, a Djukun Language Specialist and Social Worker, the book brings together storytelling, language and culture to create meaningful conversations around children's emotional wellbeing.
Through Wangadi's journey, children learn that it's OK not to be OK, that they don't have to face challenges alone, and that even a small act of care can make a big difference.
The book is a beautiful resource for families, schools, early childhood educators, libraries and community organisations, and can support Social and Emotional Learning, language and literacy activities, classroom discussions about emotions, and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
The perfect resource for R U OK? Day this September.
