Seeding was done & dusted third week of May but only just getting to posting a few pictures. Early rain was great but minimal follow up. Still supplementing cattle some fodder. Eight orphan calves, few twins with prefix W for 2025. So we have William, Wally, Winky, Wilson, Wendy, Winnie, can’t remember last two🤣🙈

In October 22 we put our first silage pit down as was a great growing year for the vetch/oats. Has been a learning curve but had tested & was A2 silage so had sealed up properly. Silage tarp on top followed by gravel. Daily job to remove more gravel from top of pit to get more bales out.Had hoped could have had stashed away for many years to come but the 2024 has been a tough one for feed. 1100 square bales went into pit and had also above ground wrapped silage & pit is almost empty.

Calving done & dusted for another year. Cattle looking fairly good considering prolonged dry spell that still continues so hopefully a decent rain tomorrow or the next day, everything crossed 🌨️🌨️🌨️🌨️
