WATCH & ACT - SEVERE WEATHER - Prepare To Take Shelter

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for people in Central, South West, North Central and parts of East Gippsland, North East, West and South Gippsland, Wimmera and Northern Country Forecast Districts.
- A cold front will enter the state late on Tuesday, continuing into Wednesday.
- Showers and thunderstorms are likely along with north-westerly winds.
- Damaging winds averaging 65 km/h with peak gusts up to 110 km/h over elevated areas are forecast.
- Locally destructive winds with peak gusts of around 130 km/h are possible over Alpine peaks from early Wednesday morning.
- Damaging wind conditions are expected to ease during Wednesday afternoon.
- A further front may lead to increased winds in south-west and Alpine areas late Wednesday.
Prepare to take shelter and be aware of potential hazards caused by the severe weather. Hazards include trees down, fallen power lines, debris and floodwater.
