Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:
The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends.

Yesterday some of our rugby league superstars took to the field in a day of fun competition against other local schools at the Newcastle Knights League Stars Challenge at Kurri Kurri.

We were so impressed with the level of skill and sportsmanship displayed by all of our students.

We can’t wait to hit the field again!

Our very first ever excursion for TLC was a huge success! 🎉

Our little 10 friends had the most incredible day visiting Grahamstown Public School for their Easter Hat Parade… and they even got to join in too!

With just two days to prepare, we are so proud of how everything came together. The joy on the children’s faces said it all. Miss Amber and Miss Lily had just as much fun, and the children have not stopped talking about it all day!

It was so special for the children to reconnect with old TLC friends and see their siblings as well, making the experience even more meaningful and full of connection.

Thank you so much for having us, Grahamstown Public School. We can’t wait to visit again soon! 💛

Today, a number of our students had the honour of attending the 2026 Newcastle & Hunter Combined Schools ANZAC Service at the Newcastle Civic Theatre.

The students observed performances from public, Catholic, and private schools, who explored the significance of various ANZAC symbols and commemorative practices through drama, music, and public speaking.

Many thanks to the Baptist Church for providing the buses, and to Pastor Shane and Mrs Hanley for generously driving us to the event.

We commend our students for representing our school with such respect and maturity on this significant occasion.

Our students truly outdid themselves, showcasing an amazing array of creative and colourful hats. From fluffy bunnies to bright Easter eggs and everything in between, the effort and imagination on display were incredible!

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces as students proudly paraded their designs in front of the school community. A big thank you to families for your support in helping bring these wonderful creations to life.

Well done to all our students for making the day so special — and full of Easter cheer! 🐣💛

🌟Class of the Week 🌟
This week 3/4C have been measuring large perimeters in the playground in metres and converting to centimetres and millimetres. We have really enjoyed being outside using trundle wheels in the sun as a break from learning in the classroom.

Harmony Day is a special occasion celebrated across Australia, recognising and embracing the country’s cultural diversity. It is a time to promote inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone, regardless of background.

Yesterday, our students had a wonderful time celebrating Harmony Day at school. Through a variety of engaging activities, they explored different cultures, shared experiences, and demonstrated the importance of kindness and respect. It was fantastic to see our school community come together to celebrate diversity and the values that make our school a welcoming place for all.
