A reminder that Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre will be closed on Monday 8th June for the King's Birthday public holiday.

We reopen Tuesday 9th June at 8:00am - normal schedule from there.

If your child normally has a lesson on a Monday, you will not be charged for this lesson. 💙 Stay safe and enjoy your long weekend.

This week we meet... Keaton, one of our newest instructors, and already a firm favourite with the children in his classes.

Swimming is practically in Keaton's DNA. His mum is a swim instructor, and after 2.5 years teaching across three different centres, he brings real experience and a genuine love of the water to every lesson.

What he enjoys most isn't the technique, it's the moment a child stops thinking about it and starts actually having fun. That's what keeps him coming back.

He specialises in freestyle, and if you've got a child in one of his classes, one word will become very familiar very quickly: KICK. 🤪

Ask him what sea creature he'd be and he'll tell you dolphin. No hesitation. Because they're pretty cool. We reckon he fits in just fine. 🐬

This week we meet the one and only, Lilli - one of the friendly faces your child will come to know and love at Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre. 👋🏻

Lilli has been teaching swimming for five years, and she'll tell you she knew from the moment she first watched an instructor work that it was exactly what she was made to do. Her goal hasn't changed since day one, help every child reach their potential in the water, and make sure they're as safe as possible while doing it.

What keeps her coming back? The community. The relationships she builds with kids, parents, and her fellow instructors. And watching the little ones grow lesson by lesson into confident, capable swimmers.

She has a gentle, calm way about her that the young ones especially respond to. Her favourite skill to teach is arm circles right after they've got their bubbles and breathing sorted. And there's one rule she'll repeat in every single lesson - NEVER go in the water alone.

At Sherriffs Road, your child will see the same familiar faces every week. That's not an accident, it's how trust is built, and how kids learn best.
