MVA PERSONS TRAPPED - CREW 66 RESPONDED TO 2 MVAs YESTERDAY BOTH INVOLVING OCCUPANTS TRAPPED AND MAJOR DEFORMITY TO VEHICLES (with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 059 Eastwood and Burwood Fire and Rescue NSW 015 Station ). Officers from Burwood Police Area Command Ryde Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance. TIMELY REMINDER TO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE GREAT CARE WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN.

Fire+Rescue Open day 2026
Thank you to the local community of Rhodes, Wentworth Point & Concord for coming out to meet your local firefighters. Fire and Rescue NSW Station 016 Concord & Fire and Rescue NSW Station 066 Rhodes

The crews enjoyed their conversations with the local community delivering key messages and were impressed with the communities knowledge of fire safety.
It was also great to see the community so engaged in various activities and demonstrations shown on the day.

Unit Fire 🔥 - Crew 66 responded with Burwood Fire and Rescue NSW 015 Station and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 016 Concord this PM to foodstuff alight in a residential unit. Luckily minimal damage was sustained and no one was hurt - Timely Reminder to - Officers from Burwood Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance.

Our On-Call firefighters are a highly skilled, ethical and professional team of men and women from all walks of life.

On-Call Firefighters support their local community by responding to emergency incidents from their home or other workplaces. When the pager goes off, our On-Call Firefighters answer the call by responding directly from their place of work or home. They are the epitome of prepared for anything! For this reason, and to ensure you can respond promptly to calls, you need to live and/or work within a reasonable distance to your local fire station to be eligible to apply.

The work is paid, varied, challenging and rewarding, often operating in confronting and stressful situations, particularly when people are injured or threatened with injury and loss of life. Firefighting involves day, night and weekend work, and can be physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. You will be provided with resources to support your health, safety and wellbeing.

On-Call Firefighters are trained to:

prevent and reduce the risk of fire and potential loss to life and property
work closely with the local community to increase fire safety awareness and promote fire prevention
undertake all manner of rescue
deal with hazardous material incidents
assist other agencies with emergency medical responses and severe weather-related events

MAJOR MVA --- PUMP 66 responded to a major MVA involving a truck and several other vehicles in Belfield this PM. Officer from NSW Ambulance , Traffic and Highway Patrol Command - NSW Police Force were also in attendance, thankfully no one was seriously injured.

CAR WORKSHOP 🔥🔥🔥 - Crew 66 together with firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 016 Concord Fire and Rescue NSW Station 030 Lidcombe Fire and Rescue NSW Station 027 Parramatta and a number of other stations battled a car workshop fire at Silverwater early this AM.Thankfully no one was injured. Officers from NSW Police Force and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance.
