Our VCE Unit 1 Art Creative Practice students have just finished completing their final artworks for the semester. These artworks express the self/ are an expression of their identity, inspired by the art practices of Egon Schiele, Tschabalala Self and Dylan Mooney. It’s fantastic to see such a range of art styles and techniques.

Our year 9, 10 & 11’s had the chance to visit our senior subject expo in preparation for subject selections for 2027. They got to hear from current teachers and students to help them make informed decisions about their pathways and future in the VCE or VCE VM here at RHS. It was a fantastic sight to see as our students start to plan for their future!!

We were so pleased to welcome the Reverb team from the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) for a wellbeing incursion with our Year 8 students. Through engaging, peer-led workshops, students explored topics including mental health, wellbeing, help-seeking, and supporting one another. The sessions encouraged open and meaningful conversations, helping students build confidence, strengthen connections, and develop a greater understanding of the supports available to them and their peers.

This week is National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) 🖤❤️💛

This year’s theme is All In — a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every day. Reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines. It is built through learning, listening, respect and action.

At Richmond High School, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise the importance of creating a school community grounded in respect, understanding and inclusion for all.

As a school community, we are committed to continuing the journey of reconciliation together.

Our Year 10 RHS boys recently participated in a Man Cave workshop, engaging in meaningful conversations around identity, empathy, communication and respectful relationships.

We were incredibly proud of the way our students represented themselves and our school throughout the program.

Programs like these play an important role in strengthening the respectful relationships work happening across our school community, helping students build greater self-awareness, connection and understanding of others.

A huge thank you to The Man Cave facilitators for creating such a positive and engaging experience for our students

Today is National Sorry Day, a day of remembrance, commemoration and truth-telling that honours the Stolen Generations.

It is a deeply painful part of Australia’s history. National Sorry Day asks us to acknowledge the trauma, grief and loss caused by government policies that forcibly removed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities, cultures and Country.
