⚾️🥎 BATTER UP! 🥎⚾️

Our Grade 5/6 students have been knocking it out of the park during their 3-session softball lessons!

They’ve been mastering their batting stance, practising their throwing and catching with a mitt and learning the rules!

There were plenty of big swings, great catches, wild throws and lots of laughs along the way!

It’s been fantastic to see their coordination, confidence and skills improve while having a whole lot of fun!

What an incredible State Schools Spectacular experience!

We are so proud of our students for the enthusiasm, commitment and confidence they brought to this special event. From rehearsals to the final performance, they embraced every opportunity and created memories that will last well beyond the stage.

A huge congratulations to all of our performers, what an amazing achievement!

💌📮 Our Foundation students sure have been busy learning all about the services in our community! This time with a walk to the local Australia Postbox to post a handwritten letter home. They have learnt all about the journey their letter will take from the classroom, to the postbox, to the sorting center and then to their own letterboxes. They can’t wait to receive their letters at home!

Our Grade 3 and 4 students absolutely love getting hands-on in our Kitchen Garden program with Ms Mitchell! Each week, they work towards building lifelong health and sustainability habits by:

🌿 Nurturing our organic gardens, caring for our chickens, composting and sustainable care
🥕 Harvesting our variety of fresh, and native produce
👩‍🍳 Cooking nutritious recipes while mastering essential kitchen skills
🥣 Sharing a delicious meal together as a class community

Watching their confidence and enthusiasm grow with every harvest and shared meal is truly special!

Things got a little explosive in Grade 5/6!

Our students had a blast exploring the layers of the Earth, the crust, mantle, outer core and inner core, through three hands-on experiments!

From colourful milk and detergent reactions, to making oobleck and creating our very own volcano explosions, science definitely got messy!

The 5/6s loved today and really enjoyed building on all their knowledge about extreme weather and natural disasters!

This morning, Mullum took part in the Kids Helpline’s Largest Anti-Bullying Lesson, organised by our Junior School Council. It was a great opportunity for our students to learn more about kindness, respect and how we can all play a part in creating a safe and supportive school community.

🚒 Our Foundation students have been learning all about the important helpers in our community, and we were lucky enough to have a very special visit from Fire Rescue Victoria!
The children had a ball learning about fire safety, what firefighters do during an emergency, and how they help keep our community safe.
The highlight was definitely getting to explore the fire truck and, of course, having a turn using the fire hose!
Check out Mullum’s junior firefighters in the making!
