If you are contemplating processing coloured wool this or next year please consider Cheryl's post. Think seriously about August. Remembering that scoured, dry fibre can be packed and stored away until you are ready to take it to the next stage, be that top making, carding or further to spinning. Your commercial wool bales of coloured wool (+100kg each) will add to the total needed for the run and ensure the future of scouring for our coloured sheep flocks in the future. This is not for single fleeces, but for bulk lots. Jim needs 100 bales to make it work.

Worth a visit. There will be quilts on display all over I am told.

Worth a visit. There will be quilts on display all over I am told.

Bass & Flinders Maritime Museum will host four quilts as part of this exhibition, and we’re excited to be part of it.

While you’re visiting, don’t miss another remarkable quilt display in the museum. In 1998, the Tasmanian Quilting Guild Inc. undertook a special challenge to mark the 200-year anniversary of Bass and Flinders’ 1798 circumnavigation of Tasmania aboard the Norfolk. The resulting collection of quilts depicts what Bass and Flinders may have seen on that historic voyage.

These quilts travelled extensively as a suitcase exhibition before eventually finding a permanent home at our museum.
