Truck driver charged after near miss of two pedestrians - Kellyville Ridge

A man has been charged after two pedestrians were nearly struck by a truck in Sydney’s north west.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command commenced investigations following the near miss of two school students on Thursday (10 September 2026).

Police will allege, about 8.15am, a truck driver travelling at the intersection of Windsor Road and Cemetary Boulevard, Kellyville Ridge, has swerved past vehicles, before proceeding through a red light.

In doing so, the truck allegedly hit a kerb where two teenage girls were standing, before allegedly driving away.

The girls sustained minor injuries.

The incident was reported to police later that day and officers commenced inquiries.

Following investigations, about 6pm yesterday (Friday 11 September 2026), officers spoke to the alleged truck driver – a 26-year-old man – at a home in Mount Pritchard.

He was issued a Court Attendance Notice charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, not stop at stop line at red light (not toll booth)-motor vehicle, not give particulars to owner of damaged property and fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury.

The man is due to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday 29 September 2026.

R U OK? Day — Thursday 10 September

It doesn't take much — a coffee, a phone call, five minutes in a hallway — but it can mean everything to the person on the other end.

Today's about looking beyond our own day and checking in on the people around us: workmates, neighbours, mates you haven't caught up with in a while, family you keep meaning to call. The ones who always seem fine are sometimes the ones who need it asked the most.

So take a moment today. Ask someone "R U OK?" — and really listen to the answer. A small conversation can be the start of something that changes someone's life.

Someone can seem fine and still be struggling. A simple check‑in bridges the gap between what you see and what they feel.

If you're thinking it, Ask R U OK? Any Day.
