200+ AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Community Champions, one incredible mission! 🎉⚽

Over the past two weeks, CulturalPulse has proudly teamed up with the Local Organising Committee to host four amazing induction events in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast – officially welcoming more than 200 multicultural leaders into the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Community Champion Program.

These passionate community leaders will help to spread the word, share the excitement and build pride across Australia’s diverse communities as we count down to this 12-nation celebration of women’s football.

Sarah Walsh, COO of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup tournament and former Matilda, said:

“You are the heart and soul of this tournament and we look forward to working together with you to bring the excitement, colour and cultural pride to life.”

From the rhythm of Dhol drummers and the grace of Japanese Koto players and colour of lion dances along with the presence of VIPs and Consular guests, each event was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity that will define the 2026 tournament experience.

Some standout moments that were shared include:

✅ In Sydney – we honored the 1975 First Matildas legends and welcomed the newest Western Sydney Wanderers player - Janae DeFazio
✅ In the Gold Coast – we welcomed Young Matilda Hollie Palmer who joined along with our Iranian and Filipino performers
✅ In Brisbane – Japanese and Filipino artists inspired our community
✅ In Perth – The Hon. Reece Whitby MLA joined a vibrant display of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Filipino culture

On 3 November, the QT Hotel Perth hosted a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and football as the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026 officially welcomed its Community Champions. The event was graced by the Reece Whitby MLA Minister for Tourism, AFC Executive General Manager Cindy McColloch, Matildas legend Pat O’Connor, and the Cultural Pulse team led by CEO Reg Raghavan.

It was an absolute honour to meet the first captain of the Matildas, Pat O’Connor 🥰 an inspiring and graceful leader whose strength and spirit continue to shine even after 50 years.

My sincere thanks to ISWA for the opportunity to attend this meaningful event and be part of a wonderful celebration of community, culture, and football.

Next year will be an incredible opportunity for our community to witness history in the making. Let’s come together in large numbers to celebrate and proudly cheer for your own country. 👍👊⚽

With the results now in, this campaign comes to a close.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. To my wonderful friends and all those who sent their best wishes through social media posts, text messages, and phone calls. Your encouragement and belief have truly meant the world to me 🙏🤝

A special thanks my beautiful family for giving me the strength and confidence not only during this election campaign but in every decision I have taken in life. 😇❤️

This has been an incredible experience of learning, listening, and connecting with so many wonderful people across our community. I’m proud of the conversations we started and the positive spirit we carried throughout.

I tried my best, without any endorsement, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve and represent our shared values.

Congratulations to the newly elected candidates. I wish you all the very best as you take on the important work ahead.

For me, the work continues, because at the end of the day, it has always been, and will always be, about the community. 💛 🙌

Happy Diwali to you and your family! 🪔

Local efforts matter ❤️

When we come together, the impact can reach far beyond our neighbourhood.

I’m deeply honoured to have my journey featured in the South Asian Herald, a publication based in Washington D.C. and part of the White House Press Corps.

To see this recognition beyond borders is truly special and a reminder that even small steps of care can create lasting change.

My focus will always remain the same: to serve our residents, support our community and keep building a Canning that is connected, caring and inclusive.

With just days remaining before the City of Canning local government elections, Gurukul WA’s Founder and President, Tani Saha, who is contesting for the position of Councilor for the City, asserted she…

Our Community, Our Light ✨️

It was a great pleasure to be part of the 10th Anniversary of Diwali Celebration at the WA Parliament House, organised by BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in conjunction with Hon. Dr Tony Buti MLA, Minister for Multicultural Interests.

The evening beautifully showcased the spirit of celebrating unity, service, and shared harmony that continue to enrich our diverse society.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending and taking part in the Friends of the Shelley Rossmoyne Foreshore (FoSRF) AGM at CREEC, as a proud member of this wonderful group.

It was inspiring to hear about the amazing work of the WA Seabird Rescue volunteers and the care they give to our local seabirds and waterbirds. It was also beautiful to see the leadership, teamwork and dedication that keep FoSRF’s efforts going strong. 💛

Proud to be part of a group that continues to protect our foreshore, care for our river and bring our community together. 🌿

Voices of the Foreshore 🌿

Last month I had a lovely catch up with Stephen, President of Friends of the Shelley Rossmoyne Foreshore, and Grecian.

They took the time to walk me through the challenges of erosion along the foreshore and the importance of supporting vegetation growth to keep these spaces thriving.

It was an eye-opening conversation that showed just how much care and effort goes into preserving our beautiful areas.

I’m grateful for the passion and commitment Stephen, Grecian and the team continue to bring to this important work.

Diversity is not just something to talk about, it is something to live and embrace ❤️

I have had the privilege of working with cultural leaders from Australian, Russian, Indonesian, Chinese, Malaysian, Polish and Sri Lankan communities, creating spaces that truly celebrate the richness of who we are together 🌍.

Multiculturalism is one of our greatest strengths, even if it is not always fully recognised. I believe in lifting every culture and every voice, and I am committed to continuing this work with respect, collaboration and care 🤝.
