Brisbane South State Secondary College is proud to launch Brisbane South SSC Biomedical Explorers—an exciting new excellence program for curious and academically motivated Year 5 students with an interest in STEM(M) and biomedical science.

Commencing in 2027, the program will offer:

🧪 Hands-on STEM(M) investigations and biomedical science learning experiences;
🎓 Engagement opportunities with The University of Queensland;
💡 Inquiry-based learning and real-world challenges;
🤝 Connections with like-minded young learners;
🔬 Opportunities to build confidence, scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.

Brisbane South SSC Biomedical Explorers is a supported early-entry pathway, with successful applicants receiving a conditional offer of enrolment into the Brisbane South SSC Biomedical Science Academy for Year 7 in 2028.

Applications are open to current Year 5 students from within and outside our catchment area.

🎻🎻 Advanced Strings Workshop🎻🎻

It was great for our Paganini Strings to have an amazing day at Warrigal Road State School for our Advanced Strings workshop on Monday.

The students enjoyed working with other advanced students from Sunnybank Hills State School and Warrigal Road State School and to play advanced level repertoire to form a massed string orchestra.
