The Clarence Council Youth Services run a variety of outreach programs including recreational programs, a bike program, school holiday programs, a Friday night social night program for 15+, a girls program, leadership program and graffiti programs. Youth Services also have a Youth Advisory Network Group (YNAG), a bunch of enthusiastic youth passionate about raising awareness of issues that affect
young people. YNAG is a great for youth wanting to develop valuable skills in communication, public speaking, leadership and running events, plus there is a great social side! At the Clarence Council Youth Centre young people can access health and sanitary items (tampons, condoms ect) and information and referrals to services that can assist with a variety of things such as mental health concerns and sexual health. There is also access to the net and phone; help to obtain learners licence and help or referral for resume and job applications. Youth Assist (at the Clarence Integrated Care Centre) is available for headspace and other youth specific services during the week, by appointment. Information, advice (ie sexual health, mental health, housing) and referral for young people and their families - confidential and free! Plus we are involved in loads of events, festivals and programs with other services around Clarence and Hobart!
