Just had an interesting conversation with John Spring who is the current Seymour Cottage Co Ordinator. I wondered when the cottage would be open to the public again but apparently as there is no funding and they have not been able to get any grants from either the Council or Heritage Victoria the cottage will stay closed for the foreseeable future. Sadly while it stays closed the termites will be happily feasting and destroying this amazing building.

It really amazes me it has been over 12 months since anything has been heard from the historical society about the cottage. We have a state election this year why are they not canvasing the leaders of the Labour Party and the Liberal Party or the people who are going to stand in this electorate. It just seems to me that they are letting the cottage sit there and fall apart and be eaten. This is a one of a kind building there is not another one like it in the world why are they not shifting heaven and earth to save this important building.

It was with great sadness I learnt of the death of Jean Clement her dedication and interest in Seymour Cottage was what got me interested in the cottage in the first place.
What a wonderful woman her passion for history was amazing she will be someone who is a great loss to the Romsey Historical Community.

RIP Jean

Sadly no more information has been shared about the cottage.

It is now spring and the termites will be waking from their winter sleep to feast further on the cottage.

What a waste of a historical building .

I get really down and upset that no one in this town seems to actually care about what happens to this place. Its a one of a kind there is no other like it anywhere in the world and the Historical Society is doing noting to save it

While reading the classifieds in the local papers there are 2 termite companies offering FREE Quotes and advice.

Why has the historical society not contacted either of these to get an idea of the cost and maybe a reduction in price because they are local??
