Good morning and a great big merry Christmas to the local community. As always there will be no permits issued for the Christmas to new year period. Fires for the purpose of cooking or camping are ok. If you're unsure about starting a fire on your property please call one of the local fire brigade volunteers and we'll discuss it with you.
With the rainfall we're getting lately there's not much chance of lighting up anyway .
Take care
Dave

Fire permit season is on again.it started on the 1st of September this year and ends in April 2025. You can apply for a permit online via the rural fire service site now. Be advised that it is a new system and might take 3 or 4 days to get to your local fire brigade to assess and action.you should really apply at least a week in advance. We are all volunteers and usually unable to get to you immediately . Very large piles containing big tree stumps may be inappropriate and not qualify for a permit .these piles can burn for weeks and weather conditions change rapidly. If applying for a permit please ensure you
1. Will be there while the fire is burning
2 . Have a cleared perimeter around the fire
3.have water available

We can still be contacted for paper permits as usual.

As the weather warms up fires become more dangerous. Every year the fire permit season starts on the first of September. There are strict conditions imposed on all planned burns. You will need a permit issued by a fire brigade officer in advance. Contact details can be found in the VJ or by calling fire control centre on 66630000.

Many of out members have received national emergency medals for their hard work during some recent catastrophic fire seasons. Here's some pics of 2 of our crew( Paula and Liam) receiving their medals.

Hi folks,

You wouldn’t believe it, but our local RFS needs a facelift; Rosebank Rural Fire Brigade are seeking Expressions of Interest to paint a mural on the Rosebank fire shed – no, not our faces.

Please contact Dave: [email protected], or Aletha: [email protected] with your ideas.

A local house was broken into Sunday lunchtime by 3 adults. They were disturbed and they took off with a few things. They were pursued to corndale and the police chased them into Lismore. They were seen again today scoping out houses on fox rd. 2 women and 1 male (he has a European accent) they say they are looking for an aunty or family member if someone is home. They have done this in Clunes and eureka as well. They are driving a silver Audi keep a lookout for them. Please look out for these people and report any sightings to Lismore police asap.

Obviously we're in the middle of a disaster. Please stay home,do not attempt to cross flood water ,charge your mobile phones, and be careful as large trees will be toppling over in this weather. There's been a landslide on Fox road so avoid that area too. Most of our members are cut off as well. Brigade members will be in Lismore all week helping with the cleanup. Fingers crossed it stops raining soon and all our friends and family are safe.
