📢𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁📢
This weekend Roseworthy Station (Light Group Base) is hosting a BF1 - a course for firefighters just starting their journey in the CFS. As part of this training event, you will see extra trucks (and CFS cars) around the township.

Things to note:
-There is no cause for concern
-Roseworthy CFS will still respond to incidents if we are needed
-Some sirens will be heard through the weekend while training

Last night our brigade members came together for our AGM to reflect on our year's successes and celebrate the service of several of our members.

Jason, our captain, awarded Arran & Steve their 10-year meritorious service medals to the CFS; and Eion, Coleson & Graeme were given their 5-year service certificates. Rebecca & Tilly were presented Roseworthy Brigade challenge coins, which our brigade provides to volunteers in recognition of 2 years of service to our local community.

This year was not a voting year for brigade position holders; however, our Equipment Coordinator position became vacant recently, and Andrew P was elected unopposed. Good luck in your new role, Andrew, and we thank Tilly for her dedication as the Equipment Coord for the past 12 months.

Andrew S modelled a new radio vest option available to brigades, allowing our appliance officers to juggle their multiple radios more efficiently than tucking them into our PPC pockets. Community fundraising allows our brigade to purchase such optional gear, making our jobs just that little bit easier.

Lastly, it's important to thank our respective families for their unwavering support, which often means our volunteers miss family events and routine commitments. It is this support that allows our volunteers to serve whenever our pagers ring day or night, to aid the community when we're most needed.

We send our best wishes to the SAPOL police officer who finds herself with serious stab wounds in hospital, after confronting an knife wielding man on Main North Rd, Elizabeth East this morning.

While being an emergency services worker can be dangerous at times, not a single one of us expects to find ourselves injured from our work. We know her police colleagues will support the brave officer and her family, and we hope for the officer's speedy recovery and wellbeing.

A South Australian police officer has been seriously injured in a stabbing and her alleged attacker has been shot by police in Adelaide's north this morning.

Reminder: AusAlert national test is on today @1.30pm. 📱

📱 Reminder: The AusAlert National Test is Tomorrow.

Tomorrow at 1:30 pm ACST, the Australian Government will conduct the AusAlert national test.

This test is designed to help people recognise what an AusAlert message looks and sounds like, and to ensure the system is ready to be used during real emergencies.

What you can expect

📱 Compatible mobile devices across Australia may receive a Critical AusAlert message.

🔊 Your device may play the alert sound, vibrate and display the message on screen.

⚠️ The test is being sent as a Critical Alert, which cannot be turned off through your device settings.

Before 1:30 pm

✔️ Let family, friends and colleagues know the test is happening.
✔️ If you support older people, people with disability, children, or anyone who may be startled by the alert, take a few moments to explain what they can expect.
✔️ If you have meetings, presentations, classes or events scheduled around 1:30 pm, consider letting attendees know in advance that devices may briefly sound or vibrate.

During the test

✅ Read the message.
✅ There is no action required during today’s national test.
✅ Once you’ve read it, simply dismiss the notification and continue with your day.

The test is an important step in helping ensure Australians are familiar with AusAlert before it’s needed during a real emergency.
