Priority #5: A New School for Burpengary East

Burpengary East is one of the fastest-growing communities in Queensland, and local families deserve confidence that education infrastructure will keep pace with that growth.

Planning for a future state school isn't just about today's students — it's about ensuring families moving into our community have access to quality education close to home for years to come.

As more families choose to live in Burpengary East and North Harbour, it's important that investment in schools keeps pace with demand.

We bought the land, now the government needs to get on with planning and building the school.

On 23 June, I'll be looking to see whether the Government is prepared to support the next generation of local students with the infrastructure our growing community needs.

🚗 TOP 5 BUDGET PRIORITIES FOR BANCROFT

Priority #4: Finish Deception Bay Rd Widening

Anyone who regularly travels along Deception Bay Road knows how important this corridor is to our community.

As our region grows, traffic congestion continues to impact commuters, families and local businesses. Widening the rest of Deception Bay Road would help improve traffic flow, reduce travel times and support future growth across the northern corridor.

Our road network needs investment to keep pace with the communities it serves.

On 23 June, I'll be looking to see whether the Government is prepared to commit funding to this important local project.

Community housing providers, development and housing industry representatives, as well as homelessness and tenancy advocates — my colleagues and I were able to give them a forum yesterday, and listen to them.

The outstanding issues, possible solutions and their general opinions - we're all on the same page when it comes to resolving these problems.

Priority #3: Better Bus Services

Getting around our community should be easier, more reliable and more affordable.

As more families choose to call Bancroft home, public transport needs to keep pace with growth. I've heard from residents across North Lakes, Mango Hill, Burpengary East and Deception Bay who want more frequent services and better connections to work, school and essential services.

Investing in expanded bus services would help reduce congestion, improve accessibility and give residents more transport options.

On 23 June, I'll be looking to see whether the Government is prepared to invest in better public transport for our growing communities.

🏥 TOP 5 BUDGET PRIORITIES FOR BANCROFT

Priority #2: More Hospital Beds for Our Region

Our community deserves access to quality healthcare close to home.

Under the former Labor government, the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion was set to deliver 204 new beds and expanded health services to support our growing region by 2028. With local families continuing to face pressure on our health system, this stalled project remains one of the most important investments our community needs.

As Bancroft continues to grow, it's critical that healthcare infrastructure keeps pace.

On 23 June, I'll be looking to see whether the Government is prepared to back our region with the funding and commitment needed to deliver more hospital beds and better healthcare for local residents.
