Rouse Hill Rural Fire Brigade is a community-based volunteer fire brigade in the NSW Rural Fire Service. Our station is located at 402 Withers Road, Rouse Hill. The station is open Monday nights from 7.00 pm for training, except the first Monday of each month when the brigade monthly meeting is held. Training or meeti

ngs are not held on Public Holidays. If there is an emergency, call Triple Zero (000). For incident information, visit www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fires-near-me. The purpose of this page is to keep you up to date with brigade related activities and events and to share fire-related information. This page is managed by the Brigade Community Engagement Team. Busy Sunday across Districts 🚒🔥

Our brigade assisted with the Bannerman Road Hazard Reduction on Sunday, with several of our members taking part in their first hazard reduction burn, a great experience building skills and confidence 👏

Later in the day, we responded to assist the Hawkesbury District at a structure fire, working alongside other agencies to help bring the incident under control.

🔥 WISEMANS FERRY RD, MAROOTA – HAZARD REDUCTION 🔥

Just letting residents in Maroota, South Maroota and Sackville North know that a planned hazard reduction burn is taking place this Monday, 27th April.

Crews have been preparing this approximately two-hectare burn (between Wisemans Ferry Road and Haerses Road) for some time and will be taking advantage of the favourable conditions over the long weekend.

🌫️ Smoke will be present across the area on Monday.
⚠️ Key safety actions:
🏠 Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes
🪑 Keep outdoor furniture under cover to prevent ember burns
🏊 Retract pool covers to prevent ember damage
👕 Remove washing from clotheslines
🐶 Ensure pets have a protected area
🚗 Slow down, keep windows up and headlights on when driving
🚫 Sightseers must keep away from the burn area for their own safety
💨 If you have asthma or a lung condition, reduce outdoor activity and follow your health plan or seek medical advice if needed

🔥 BANNERMAN ROAD HAZARD REDUCTION 🔥

Just letting residents in the Annangrove, Kenthurst, Kellyville and Glenhaven areas know that there is a planned hazard reduction burn taking place on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th April.

🌫️ Smoke will be present across Sunday and Monday in the area. Crews have been preparing this burn for some time and will be taking advantage of the favourable conditions over the weekend.

🚗 There will be contraflow traffic for a period on Bannerman Road on Sunday, so please factor this into your travel and slow down in the burning area.

Key actions include:

🏠 Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes
🪑 Keep outdoor furniture under cover to prevent ember burns
🏊 Retract pool covers to prevent ember damage
👕 Remove washing from clotheslines
🐶 Ensure pets have a protected area

Another busy day for the brigade 🚒

Members responded to a motor vehicle accident, assisted another agency, and also visited Rouse Hill Preschool as part of our community engagement.

A big thank you to the children for the wonderful thank you cards, we really appreciated them 😊
