📚✨Book Week 2026✨📚

Yesterday, we celebrated the 2026 Book Week theme ‘Symphony of Stories’ at Park Ridge. Our school was filled with colour and excitement as we started the day with a wonderful parade. We watched our students bring their favourite characters to life through their incredible and creative costumes!

Throughout the day, students participated in some fun and engaging craft activities inspired by the books:
- Dear Broccoli
- Derek
- The Frogs First Song
- Frogs Are Our Friends

Just to make the day even MORE special, we enjoyed some dancing throughout the day as part of our whole school reward for filling up our values cylinder.🕺🏼

🔬John Monash Science School - Little Scientists, Big Science🔬

Over the past four weeks, four students from Park Ridge participated in the ‘Little Scientists, Big Science’ program at John Monash Science School.

Students had the opportunity to learn about and conduct experiments in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These lesson were taught by JMSS and Monash University students inside real science laboratories.

Our “Little Scientists” had a fantastic time! They used microscopes, tested pH levels, designed a vessel to safely land an egg dropped from the second storey and SO much more!

It was a fun, exciting and engaging experience that gave us a great insight into the world of science and laboratory learning!

⭐️ Whole School Reward ⭐️

As part of our whole school reward for filling our ‘We are Resilient’ cylinder, students had an extended ‘Play with the Teachers’ on Friday. This was a chance for us to recognise the resilience that our students have demonstrated each day through their positive attitudes, perseverance and commitment to learning.

Our teachers joined in the fun alongside our students, participating in a range of sports and activities. These included basketball, tennis, four square, skipping, stacking cups and so much more!

What a wonderful way for our school community to celebrate together. 🌟

🌟 100 Days of SCHOOL 🌟

Our Foundation students proudly celebrated their 100th Day of School on Friday 24th July! 💯

Dressed as 100-year-olds, our students brought plenty of laughs with their creative costumes before enjoying a fun day of 100-themed activities, including writing about what life might look like at 100 years old, maths challenges, craft and so much more!

The celebrations finished with a special parade for families, who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone. We are so proud of everything our Foundation students have achieved in their first 100 days of school and can't wait to see them continue to learn, grow and shine.

⭐️Knox Division Girls Football Championships⭐️

The Knox Division Girls Football Championships were held on Tuesday at Kings Park. Park Ridge entered an A and a B team into the carnival, with the A team finishing 7th place out of 15 teams, and the B team finishing 3rd place out of 11 teams.

A few special mentions go to:
- Sienna, who won the overall MVP award in B Grade, which is not bad for a Year 4 who received a late call up!
- Hannah, who took out the overall Longest Kick Competition for the second year running.

Well done to all the girls who competed, and a big thank you to all the parents who came to support!

💛Supporting our Socceroos & End of Term 2💚

There was a sea of green and gold across the school today as we proudly supported the Socceroos! To celebrate our whole school reward, everyone dressed in green and gold and enjoyed a fun afternoon of board games.

We were also extremely excited to cheer on our very own Park Ridge alumnus and current Socceroos player, Jackson Irvine!

What a fantastic way to finish Term 2. We wish all of our students and families a happy and safe holiday break, and we look forward to seeing you all for Term 3. ⭐️

👕 PYJAMA DAY 👕

Pyjama Day was a wonderful way to celebrate our students’ hard work in achieving a whole-school goal!

It was great to recognise their success, teamwork, and commitment to our school values with a fun day at school. Students enjoyed being able to wear their pyjamas or comfortable clothes, making it a special reward for their effort and achievement.

What an awesome way to celebrate working together! ⭐️

🔶 STEAM Day 🔶

Yesterday, students stepped into the roles of engineers and designers, collaborating across Foundation to Year 6 on various hands on activities that encouraged problem solving, sharing ideas, creativity and critical thinking.

Students worked together to design and build towers and bridges to see which structures would support the most weight. They also explored the concept of force through creating marble runs and catapults, testing and refining their designs along the way.

What an awesome STEAM Day we had!
