Retrieval practice and building fluency helps our mathematicians become more accurate and efficient. Year 3-4 students enjoyed using playing cards to consolidate the number skills they have been working on recently. Adding and subtracting numbers, doubling and identifying complements to 10, 20 and 100 were all practised and what better way to do this than battling it out with your classmates!

1/2 students have put their measuring skills to the test, using trundle wheels to map out the length of the lines on our tiger turf. Students worked well as teams to count the clicks and ensure their measurements were recorded correctly.

The F-2 Excursion to Wangaratta today was a hit!
Students watched the Andy Griffith's book You & Me and The Land of the Lost Things come to life in a stage performance.
They then either went to complete a tour and activity at the Wangaratta Art Gallery and Library.
Finishing off a fabulous day with a play at Apex Park was a lot of fun, and a great way to burn some energy before the bus ride home.

The 3-4s have loved their reading of the text titled, ‘The Mess That We Made’. This text was based on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the Pacific Ocean and how much plastic is finding its way into the ocean and impacting marine life. We have built our vocabulary based on the size of plastics, created persuasive posters to raise awareness and have even taken action by visiting Rutherglen Library to collect orange bags to set up the recycling of soft plastics in our school. Great job 3-4s for making connections and applying your learning to real life.

Despite the rain, wind and muddy track, our division runners put in their best efforts at cross country yesterday in Wangaratta. They were up against almost 80 kids in each of their races, competing against schools from the ovens and Mitta region. A huge congratulations to Stella who finished top 12, meaning she is through to the next round which will be held in Benalla next Friday. Best of luck Stella. A big thank you to Rachel Crawford and Georgia Prescott for assisting with driving students to and from the track. Well done to all students who competed, you should be extremely proud of your efforts and the support you gave each other at the track yesterday. Congratulations!
