St Marys Area Community Development Project We are committed to working with the wider St Marys Area Community to maximise its potential and improve the quality of life of those living in the area.

Our world, our community has shifted into unknown territory. Many of you will be feeling isolated as well. We are officially in lockdown and we will be working from home from Friday 27th of March.
We will touch base with all our clients and facilitators to make sure you are well and if there is anything you need that we can assist and support you with. I am not sure how long we are in lockdown down for and working from home.

Council has given us the directive that tomorrow is the last day for us to be in the building.
My concern goes out to everyone’s well being at this stage and that we all check in with each other. It’s eerie but we will do our best .

Good Afternoon everyone. In these times of uncertainty, confusion & chaos I hope you all stay safe. We have taken precautions with all groups, meetings and events. Everything is cancelled at this stage till the 31.03.2020 but it will be reviewed in coming days and we will let everyone know what is happening. I take this time to also thank everyone for their patience throughout this COVIVD 19 virus. Take care and please stay safe. The office is still open and we are still working.

Community Matters

St Marys Area Community Development Project Inc. (SMACD) is a not for profit community based organisation managed and run by local people. We work in partnership with key stakeholders to improve services and facilities in the wider St Marys area. We deliver a wide range of groups, classes and workshops at St Marys Community Centre and also run a variety of major events throughout the year bringing people together to celebrate cultural diversity and raise awareness of the issues affecting our community.

We aim to:


  • Increase social inclusion, participation, cohesion and sense of belonging to different communities

  • Develop activities and provide relevant and meaningful services that address local needs
