Backing the next generation, one conversation at a time ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Last week, Wellington Shire Council CEO David Morcom attended the 10th Annual Live4Life Dinner, joining supporters, partners and advocates committed to improving youth mental health outcomes across regional Victoria.

๐ŸŒฑ The annual dinner is the major fundraiser for Youth Live4Life, the not for profit organisation behind Australia's only youth mental health education and su***de prevention model designed specifically for rural and regional communities like ours.

Now in its third year in Wellington, Live4Life continues to:
โœ… Provide evidenceโ€‘based mental health education
โœ… Reduce stigma through open and meaningful conversations
โœ… Empower young people to lead change

Weโ€™re proud to support this important initiative and to stand alongside those working to improve youth mental health across our region๐Ÿค

โœˆ๏ธ Did you know more than 12,300 people turned out for this yearโ€™s The Middle of Everywhere ANZAC Week Airshow at West Sale Airport?

That crowd helped deliver an estimated $1.8 million boost into the local economy, supporting tourism, local businesses and jobs across the region. ๐Ÿคฏ

With visitors filling accommodation, dining out and spending locally, itโ€™s a great example of how events like this benefit the whole community.

Thanks to everyone involved - from the pilots and crews to our volunteers, partners and attendees. Until next time! ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ

๐Ÿšฆ Traffic Surveys Underway in Heyfield, Sale and Yarram

You may notice temporary traffic and pedestrian survey cameras in place between at several locations across Heyfield, Sale and Yarram.

๐Ÿ“ Survey locations include:
โ€ข Heyfield โ€“ George Street (Temple Street)
โ€ข Heyfield โ€“ Temple Street (Harbeck Street)
โ€ข Sale โ€“ Inglis Street (Patten Street)
โ€ข Sale โ€“ Raglan Street (near Guthridge Parade)
โ€ข Yarram โ€“ Commercial Road (Wesley Street)

The Department of Transport and Planning is partnering with councils across Victoria to collect traffic and pedestrian movement data to help identify road safety issues and inform future planning.

You may also notice a newer camera setup being used, with all equipment housed within the enclosure at the top of the pole.

If you have any questions about the surveys, please contact the Department of Transport and Planning Customer Service Team on ๐Ÿ“ž (03) 9655 6666.
