Hi all
Been a while since I chatted (about rabbits). I did get a response after recording my concern with state dept. Mandy explained why the plague continues and is not successfully managed until our area dries out a little
If you have concerns make an official notification because that helps tracking and ultimately management
Been busy but luckily engaging with some inspirational people
I was fortunate to be invited to be a panelist at an emerging leaders conference in Panorama and the very next day help 8 children who organised a clean up of Scamander foreshore ( they have actually been doing it for 3 years) I was also invited to speak with grade 3/4 students at St Helen’s who are studying local government at the moment - they certainly asked some sharp questions
I also met with Beaumaris residents at Surfside to explore issues that impact their community
The nicest part of being a councillor is meeting and listening to the people of our municipality

Hi All
People of Beaumaris remember the date 6/3 at 5pm
If you have an issue or just a great idea please come along. It would be helpful to get some idea of numbers and it would be super to get a big gathering so that we can be sure any issue is a common concern cheers

Hi all - hopefully many who might get a share too
Rabbits
Apparently the only way to get rid of them is to create a plague of calls to wild life management office 1300368550 please help

Hi all
Back in Tas after a lovely wedding and extended break in WA
Firstly interested to know if all the pesky rabbits live adjacent to Silver St Scamander- love to know how widespread this plague is and get eradication happening
To the people of Beaumaris there is a proposed gathering (Beaumaris Banter) on 6/3 - 5pm at Surfside
Yes buy a coldie, have a chat and establish any issues that need attention / or ideas that need fruition
This is not a formal BODC meeting but happy to invite councillors or managers if you feel that is valuable
Goal - consensus about what needs to be done for your ‘place’
Finally to the Scamander crew - looking for a follow up soon with river and roads being the 2 key issues to ponder maybe a Tuesday night !!
Lastly- is there anyone out there who wants my Mo gone apart from my wife- if so drop into St H OAC and buy a few tickets in the monster raffle 🥸

To Sandy and Andy at the Scamander Tip shop and disposal area - keep up the good work
Looked like a busy Sunday arvo to me so I am sure many enjoy your efforts to keep the facility humming

Thank you Bay of Fires Winter Arts Festival committee for providing a variety of ‘arts’ experiences across this weekend . I certainly enjoyed bidding at the auction and took home a couple of items that will provide some real pleasure. What an array of items and prizes donated by business local and other areas of the state
To the volunteers who put the festival together and to all those who supported the event well done and thank you

Attended a very informative and empowering session today at Fingal Neighbourhood House on mental health. The theme of Ask Listen Link was run by Wendy French who has another session tomorrow at Pyengana
This topic is an important one and we all need to feel capable of helping others in time of need
Thanks to the group of ladies whose friendly banter made the session even more enjoyable
The neighbourhood house is an amazing restoration and a quietly busy place looking out for the valley people
Well done to all

Hi all
The minutes of the Scamander community chat are available on request - if I have your contact details - email preferably. Council staff will now add their intended or current actions to that document
Perhaps another meeting after that work becomes available?
Also hopefully soon a youth voice but maybe include Beaumaris/ Falmouth and beyond in that gathering
Thoughts? Cheers

Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun…. being spoilt at Xmas …overindulging into the New Year – hope your festive period was shared with family and friends too!!
Back to reality with our first Council meeting yesterday
A few thoughts on Scamander.
Firstly that fickle river has carved a new pathway causing serious erosion to the southern side of the mouth and on a daily basis is eating into the bank on a high tide. A dedicated pathway to access the beach would be nice!!!! It is perhaps good news that the Council and State Govt are putting resource into remediation and perhaps preventative strategies for the future.
I saw a man with a very recognizable hat and moustache on his mower cutting the seriously long grass on the northern side of the Scamander Bridge, on the same day locals raked and removed the ‘harvest’. Now we witness people return to picnic, paddle and fish – what a great outcome - but now it is over to the responsible authority to ensure the same problem does not arise in future [hint it is not BODC].
Several other issues are being raised by locals so perhaps it is time to consider a gathering to develop a collective voice. If you would like to be part of this conversation please contact me on
