Thanks so much to all our supporters who help us contribute to the lives of our vulnerable Afghan families living in a remote part of Afghanistan. While we continue to raise funds to meet our monthly commitment to them we are now re-engaging with Australia’s humanitarian visa program to see if we can bring Shazia and her brother Farid to safety in Tasmania. The chances are small but hope is everything to them and we simply have to try. If you would like to receive updates on how we go with this and other issues in the lives of our Afghan friends just DM us and we can pop you on our update list.

When you’re a virtual refugee in your own country, driven from your home and living in makeshift camps on the edge of villages, sometimes the only thing between you and the icy cold reality of the ground during an Afghan winter, is a pair of sandals. Recently Shazia’s family purchased thirteen pairs of sandals for children in the camp to afford them a barrier between those little well worn feet and the cold earth. It seems small but to the kids it was a real gift of comfort in anything but comfortable circumstances. Want to learn more about the realities of life in Afghanistan?
