Over the weekend, a number of our female firefighters had the amazing opportunity to attend the Western Region Women’s Challenge Camp 2026.

What a weekend it was!
From the moment we arrived, it was such a welcoming and supportive environment, bringing together female members from Districts 15, 16 and 17 to connect, learn, laugh and share experiences.

We got the chance to hear from some incredible guest speakers, learn more about the different pathways within CFA, ask the questions that matter, and take part in some really fun activities along the way. There was amazing food, plenty of laughs, and even some new games learned during our downtime.

Most importantly, we all walked away feeling empowered, supported and incredibly grateful to be part of an organisation that creates opportunities like this for women in CFA.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped put the weekend together. It was a truly special experience and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

Something a little bit different for training last night.

Our fire fighters were lucky enough to visit Field Air and have a look at the air support we often work with on the fire ground.

It was really interesting to see them from another perspective while they're based at Ballarat for some off season maintenance.

This afternoon, Sebastopol Fire Brigade - CFA was called to help our neighbouring brigade Buninyong-Mount Helen Fire Brigade along with other tankers to assist at a burn off out of control.

It's a timely reminder that whilst the weather is becoming milder and the Fire Danger Period is finished, that you still need to remain vigilant and prepared.
