On Saturday 15th August at Bunnings DTC, the Sebastopol Fire Brigade - CFA stair climber crew will be hosting the BBQ with all proceeds going towards the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb happening in mid September.

Come along, have a chat with the crew and buy a sausage or two from 9am - 4pm Saturday 15th August Bunnings Delacombe Town Centre.

Our most recent training session was a little different than most.

Sebastopol Fire Brigade - CFA spent an evening familiarising with the new Vickers St Community Hub to ensure we are informed in the case of any event we respond to, at this location.

Its not just about flashing lights, bowling hoses and delivering water - proper preparation and information builds capability for our members for any future incidents.

Thanks to City of Ballarat for facilitating access for us on a chilly Tuesday evening.

This year, we have a record number of firefighters climbing the stairs in support of some amazing charities, at the Melbourne Firefighter Stairclimb.

We are proud of Lt Ben Watterson, Lt Heath Matheson, Lt Clayton Morrison, Lt Chris Kemp, FF Fiona Corfield, FF Joshua Sadler, FF Jonathon Parkinson, FF Maddie Hollingworth, FF Erikka Morrison and FF Siobhain Matheson who are all undertaking the climb of 28 floors of stairs in 25kgs+ of kit.

So far since it's inception, Sebastopol Fire Brigade members have raised over $15,000 through generous support and donations.

Today is Thank A First Responder Day, and we at Sebastopol Fire Brigade - CFA wish to thank all our fellow emergency services personnel be they paid or volunteer alike for helping us keep the communities we love, safe.

Over the weekend, a number of our female firefighters had the amazing opportunity to attend the Western Region Women’s Challenge Camp 2026.

What a weekend it was!
From the moment we arrived, it was such a welcoming and supportive environment, bringing together female members from Districts 15, 16 and 17 to connect, learn, laugh and share experiences.

We got the chance to hear from some incredible guest speakers, learn more about the different pathways within CFA, ask the questions that matter, and take part in some really fun activities along the way. There was amazing food, plenty of laughs, and even some new games learned during our downtime.

Most importantly, we all walked away feeling empowered, supported and incredibly grateful to be part of an organisation that creates opportunities like this for women in CFA.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped put the weekend together. It was a truly special experience and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

Something a little bit different for training last night.

Our fire fighters were lucky enough to visit Field Air and have a look at the air support we often work with on the fire ground.

It was really interesting to see them from another perspective while they're based at Ballarat for some off season maintenance.

This afternoon, Sebastopol Fire Brigade - CFA was called to help our neighbouring brigade Buninyong-Mount Helen Fire Brigade along with other tankers to assist at a burn off out of control.

It's a timely reminder that whilst the weather is becoming milder and the Fire Danger Period is finished, that you still need to remain vigilant and prepared.
