Good day wonderful people of Sellicks.

You may have seen or heard that the council is seeking community feedback on a proposal to reallocate land for Sellicks Country Fire Service to build a new fire station.

This is very exciting news for us and is one small moment in what has been a very long journey for our little brigade. At this stage, it feels a little like the 12 labours of Hercules!

We have long outgrown our current station, so a new building will be much appreciated. But, like everything, it is all about location, location, location.

Both the brigade and the council are genuinely interested in your feedback. You can “Have Your Say” here:

Social media is a great place to have a conversation, but in order to have any influence over this proposal, we encourage you to submit your ideas and feedback through this channel.

Through general chat around town and on Facebook, we are hearing questions about why this site has been selected and why other locations were not chosen.

This is a valid question.

Please rest assured that there has been a long and arduous process to identify appropriate sites for a new fire station. Several sites were identified; however, due to factors such as availability, land slope, long-term planning and cost, the site at the corner of Sellicks Beach Road and Lurline Boulevard has been identified as the most appropriate.

Some very exciting news for our little community 🤗

🚒 Good news for Sellicks Beach! Last night Council approved the next step for a new Sellicks Country Fire Service

This kicks starts the process to revocate council land on Lurline Blvd, to sell for the purpose of a new CFS station.

This is a wonderful outcome, the community and the brigade have been advocating for this for years.

The next step will be community consultation 🚒

Good evening wonderful people of Sellicks 🤗

On Saturday night the Sellicks CFS Brigade held our annual presentation night at Breeze Cafe on the Esplanade Aldinga Beach.

This is a night where our members can have a relaxing dinner with friends and family to celebrate all we have achieved over the last year.

Sellicks CFS is saddened to hear of the passing of Nigel Nilsen.

Nigel will be remembered for the significant contribution he made to the CFS and the wider Kyeema Group.

Many of us will miss hearing Nigel’s familiar voice during Wednesday night radio checks – a small but constant reminder of his presence, commitment and support.

Our sincere condolences to Carlene and family, and all who knew and served alongside him

Tonight, Sellicks Country Fire Service will be conducting a Hose-Drill training session. If you would like to come down and have a look, our station on Fontaine Drive opens each Wednesday at 19:00. No need to book—just drop in. Bring the family along too. We’re always happy to have a chat.

Last Wednesday night, Sellicks Country Fire Service had an informative tour of the Sellicks Hill Quarry.

Many thanks to Luke and all of the team at Adbri.

Sellicks CFS station opens each week on Wednesdays at 19:00 for our training session, and members of the public are always welcome to come along.

Bring the family, meet your local volunteers, and have a look at the trucks and equipment. It’s a great chance for the kids to get up close and learn a bit about what we do.
