Good day wonderful people of Sellicks.
You may have seen or heard that the council is seeking community feedback on a proposal to reallocate land for Sellicks Country Fire Service to build a new fire station.
This is very exciting news for us and is one small moment in what has been a very long journey for our little brigade. At this stage, it feels a little like the 12 labours of Hercules!
We have long outgrown our current station, so a new building will be much appreciated. But, like everything, it is all about location, location, location.
Both the brigade and the council are genuinely interested in your feedback. You can “Have Your Say” here:

Social media is a great place to have a conversation, but in order to have any influence over this proposal, we encourage you to submit your ideas and feedback through this channel.
Through general chat around town and on Facebook, we are hearing questions about why this site has been selected and why other locations were not chosen.
This is a valid question.
Please rest assured that there has been a long and arduous process to identify appropriate sites for a new fire station. Several sites were identified; however, due to factors such as availability, land slope, long-term planning and cost, the site at the corner of Sellicks Beach Road and Lurline Boulevard has been identified as the most appropriate.
You can see the full extent of this work in Appendix A of the Council meeting notes from 21 July 2026, here:

Once again, we truly value your input into this project and want to get it right. We understand that there will be different views within our community, and we genuinely welcome those views. This is an opportunity for everyone to have their say and help shape the future of our fire station and community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We look forward to hearing from you all.
Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Ramsay Place, Noarlunga Centre once a month on a Tuesday, commencing at 6.30pm. These meetings are recorded.
