🚒 Seymour Show & Shine – Come Say Hello! 🚒

As part of the Labour Day long weekend, the Seymour Fire Brigade will be attending the Seymour Show & Shine tomorrow Monday 9th of March with everyone’s favourite big red truck!

Our truck is washed, polished, and shining, ready for the day and we’d love for the community to come down and say hello. It’s a great chance to get up close with the truck, have a chat with our volunteers, and learn a little more about what we do.

Bring the family along, check out the fantastic vehicles on display, and stop by to see us throughout the day.

🔥 TOTAL FIRE BAN – TUESDAY 17th FEBRUARY 🔥

Tomorrow, Tuesday 17th February, has been declared a Total Fire Ban due to dangerous fire conditions.

Under a Total Fire Ban:
🚫 No campfires or solid fuel BBQs
🚫 No burning off or incinerators
🚫 No fireworks
🚫 No welding, grinding or cutting outdoors
🚫 No use of machinery that may cause sparks

Fires can start easily and spread rapidly in these conditions, putting lives, homes and firefighters at risk.

We ask all members of the community to please:
✅ Postpone any outdoor activities that could cause sparks or flames
✅ Follow all fire restrictions
✅ Report any fires immediately by calling 000
✅ Check the VicEmergency app for the latest warnings and updates
✅ Look out for neighbours, especially the elderly and vulnerable

Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe.

We are recruiting for our Health Monitoring & Rehab Unit - If you live in Seymour (or close by) and wish to know further about the Health Monitoring & Rehab Unit please scan the QR code or email us on: [email protected] or hit the messenger button and we’ll be in contact. We’re located at the Seymour Fire Brigade, Gordon Cr. & meet for training etc each Sunday at 0930am if you would like to come along and see us in person. Medically trained is an advantage but you will be trained through courses sponsored by the CFA. Don’t delay contact us now.

There is currently a thick smoke haze across our area.
This is no cause for alarm.
There are no active fires close by causing this smoke.
The smoke has drifted across from fires burning in the southwest of the state, where crews are currently working.

Please remember:
🚫 Only call 000 if you can see flames or a clear, defined smoke column — not just smoke haze.

This morning our Group has already received a number of reports such as “smoke in the vicinity of” or “smoke sighting from…”
This blanket smoke is covering a large part of Victoria, and unnecessary calls pull volunteer resources away from genuine emergencies.

• And as always — don’t leave too late

Firefighters and police have had to respond to multiple campfires this evening.

Campfires are not allowed when a Total Fire Ban is in place.

A statewide Total Fire Ban remains in place across the state until 11.59pm (Sat 24 Jan 2026).

Total Fire Bans remain in place for the Northern Country, North Central, North East, and East Gippsland fire districts from midnight tonight (Sun 25 Jan 2026) until 11.59pm.

Illegal campfires put everyone at risk and waste the time of already stretched emergency services who have to respond to deal with avoidable risks.

Those responsible are liable for significant fines and even imprisonment if illegal fires escape and cause damage.

Every 10c we raise tells a Firefighter ‘we care’. Your donation small or big helps the CFA Rehab Team provide rest, hydration & support to those that go to the Fire 🔥 to keep us safe. Together we can give our heroes the care they deserve.
We are fundraising for additional equipment of chairs, tables, gazebo so we can provide additional support to our Members on the Fireground.

Today, Sunday, 11 January 2026 is a TOTAL FIRE BAN in the entire state of Victoria!
Please refer to "Can I or Can't I" before undertaking any hazardous tasks. The last thing we need are more fires!!

What can I or can't I do during the declared Fire Danger Period, and on days of Total Fire Ban, when fires in the open air are legally restricted?.
