❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO GNARLY NEIGHBOURS ❤️
On behalf of Seymour Fire Brigade, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Gnarly Neighbours for their incredible support of our brigade through the CFA Community Fun Day & Fundraiser last weekend.

Events like this take an enormous amount of time, planning and effort, and we are truly grateful to everyone at Gnarly Neighbours who has worked so hard to bring the community together while supporting our local CFA volunteers.

We would also like to thank all the local businesses, organisations and individuals who have contributed to the event, and most importantly, our wonderful community for getting behind it.

As a volunteer brigade, community support means so much more than fundraising alone. It reminds our members that the time they give, the training they undertake and the commitment they make to protecting our community is recognised and appreciated.

Gnarly Neighbours — thank you for supporting us and the work you do. 🚒❤️

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a generous and supportive community, and we enjoyed a fantastic day together!

From all of us at Seymour Fire Brigade — thank you. 🔥🚒❤️

And thank you Bair from Uniform Photography for the rad pics!

🚨 YOUR DRONE COULD STOP US FROM FIGHTING THE FIRE. 🚨

THINKING ABOUT FLYING YOUR DRONE NEAR A BUSHFIRE OR EMERGENCY? THINK AGAIN.

🛩️ NO DRONE. NO EXCUSES. CLEAR AIRSPACE SAVES LIVES.

When firefighting aircraft are working above a bushfire, every second counts. These aircraft are critical in slowing the spread of fire, protecting homes and supporting crews on the ground.

But when a drone enters the airspace around an emergency operation, firefighting aircraft may be forced to land.

That means:
🔥 Less aerial firefighting
⏱️ Delays in fire suppression
🏠 Greater risk to homes and communities
👨‍🚒 Increased risk to firefighters and emergency crews

You might think you’re flying safely. You might only be watching or taking a few photos. But aircraft operators cannot take the risk of an unknown drone in their flight path.

SEE A FIRE? LEAVE THE DRONE ON THE GROUND.

Help our firefighters and emergency services do their job safely.

🚨 000 IS FOR EMERGENCIES 🚨

When an emergency happens, calling Triple Zero (000) can mean the difference between life and death.

Emergency services receive calls relating to situations that could have been prevented or managed through the appropriate channels. Unnecessary or avoidable calls can place additional pressure on Triple Zero and emergency services, potentially diverting valuable resources away from people who genuinely need urgent assistance.

🔥 HELP US MINIMISE FALSE FIRE CALLS

If you are planning a burn-off, take the time to make sure it is permitted and that you are following all relevant requirements.

Before lighting a fire:

• Check the CFA “Can I, Can’t I?” Guidelines and current restrictions & if you are within a declared Fire Danger Period.
• Check with your local council for any local laws, regulations or permit requirements that may apply.
• Register your burn-off through the Victorian Fire Permits website where required.
• Make sure your burn-off is conducted safely and in accordance with all applicable requirements.

These simple steps can help reduce unnecessary fire brigade callouts to planned burning activity and ensure emergency resources remain available for genuine emergencies.

📞 CALL 000 WHEN:
• Someone is seriously injured or in danger
• There is a fire or immediate threat of fire
• A crime is happening now or there is an immediate threat to safety
• An emergency requires urgent assistance from Police, Fire or Ambulance

🚒 Our volunteers are ready to respond when the community needs us.

By using 000 appropriately and making sure planned burning is properly authorised, registered and conducted safely, you can help keep emergency resources available for those who need them most.

In an emergency, always call Triple Zero (000).
