Sinus surgery is often performed to help people breathe better and relieve long‑term sinus symptoms, and packing materials are commonly used to support healing. This research aims to improve recovery after sinus surgery by developing new packing materials used inside the nose after the procedure.

We seek consumers who have had sinus surgery, or care for someone who has to join the project as a Research Buddy. You will help guide the project by providing feedback on ideas and design, ensuring the research focuses on what matters most to patients and leads to more comfortable and practical solutions.

📢 The WAHTN CCIProgram has welcomed the launch of the country’s first National Health and Medical Research Strategy 2026 – 2036. 📢

“The new Strategy provides a roadmap for all in the health and medical research sector, and we particularly welcome the recognition in the Strategy of both meaningful consumer and community involvement and, the role Research Translation Centres like WAHTN play in ensuring research is relevant, authentic and makes a difference to those in our communities” said Deb Langridge from the WAHTN CCIProgram.

It was also wonderful to see the WAHTN CCIProgram showcased as a case study of consumers and communities as research collaborators in the new Strategy, thereby recognising the leading role WA has played in driving the significance and importance of lived experience voices in research prioritisation, ideation, implementation and translation.
