Moooooo-ve over, there's a new cop in town 👮‍♂️

Inspector Cam Sanderson is returning to his roots as the new Local Area Commander (LAC) for the Greater Shepparton area.

After growing up visiting his grandparents' dairy farm in Waaia, he already has a strong connection to the area - backed by 36 years of policing experience!

Cam has worked across Metro Melbourne, Prosecutions and as a Detective, with stints at Northern Territory Police and the Australian Federal Police.

Most recently, he was part of the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team, before serving as the LAC at Brimbank.

He's keen to hit the ground running and build strong, trusted relationships with the community, with a key focus on early intervention and long-term harm reduction to target repeat offending and support victims.

Cam says "the police in this division do a fantastic job day in, day out" and he's ready to support them in every way, while connecting with the community and local partners who play a vital role in keeping them safe.

Welcome back, Cam, and all the best in your new role.

He was remanded to appear in court on 25 June.

She was refused bail and appeared in court where she was sentenced to a 12-month Community Corrections Order.

We will continue to work with retailers to identify recidivist thieves, with the recent Retail Forum being held in Shepparton.

Police patrolling Shepparton sighted a silver commodore engaging in hooning behaviour whilst being encouraged by pedestrians.

Police intercepted the driver, and he was warned against performing hoon driving.

Approximately 15 minutes later police observed the same vehicle perform a U-turn at the corner of Wilmott Road and Wyndham Street.

The driver caused a deliberate loss of traction while in the intersection.

Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old holder of a probationary driver’s licence which was obtained earlier this year.

The driver’s vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1280 for 30 days.

The driver will be summonsed to appear in court.
